PAPIER MACHE HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN

Papier Mache Halloween Pumpkin Project

Level: Easy

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Spooky Hollow Papier Mache Pumpkin
  • Orange tissue paper
  • White school glue
  • Paint brush
  • Scissors

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Cut the tissue paper into squares with scissors. Any size square will work. For reference, we cut squares that were roughly 3 x 3 cm. We cut an entire sheet of tissue paper, and had some squares left over. Feel free to use these in another Halloween artwork you would like to create! And of course, you could also try tearing your tissue paper into small pieces if you would prefer.

Step 2 - Pour some glue into a small bowl or container. I have found that it is easier (and also a lot less messy) to paint the glue onto the pumpkin rather than squeeze it directly from the bottle.

Step 3 - Paint a small area of your pumpkin with glue and then gently press the tissue paper squares onto the glue to secure.

Step 4 - Repeat step 4 until you have covered your entire pumpkin.

Step 5 - (optional step). You might like to paint a very thin layer of glue over the top of your tissue paper to secure all the free edges of paper that are sticking up. Just make sure that you don't use too much glue. Excess glue may result in the dye bleeding out from the tissue paper. I didn't actually glue the edges down, I liked the way it looked as is.

Step 6 - Allow the glue to dry completely and display.

Step 7 - Pop some LED lights into the mouth of your pumpkin and light up at night!
