Special Stitches

Popcorn stitches:

pc3(beginning of a round): 3ch, 3tr in same stitch, remove hook and insert hook, in the 3rd ch of the ch3, then insert the hook in the st at the top of the last tr worked, yo, and draw yarn through both stitches.

pc4: 4tr in stitch, remove hook and insert hook in the previous ch-sp, then insert the hook in the st at the top of the last tr worked, yo, and draw yarn through both stitches.

Square Motif

Make 11 of Col1, 12 of Col2 and 7 of Col3.

Foundation Chain - Make 4 ch, sl st in first ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1 - 1pc3, (3ch, 1pc4) 3 times, 3ch, slst in top of first pc.

Rnd 2 - (Slst in 3ch-sp)twice, 5ch(counts as first tr and ch-sp), 3tr in same ch-sp, *(1ch, 3 tr, 3ch, 3tr) in next ch-sp, repeat from * 2 more times, 1ch, 2tr in same ch-sp at the beg of the rnd, slst in 5ch-sp at the beg of the rnd.

Finishing

Block Squares using a steam iron to measure approx. 30-32cms square(will depend on your individual tension).

Joining Squares:

Position squares to your liking, this guide is as per sample and square quantities.

With right sides facing, join squares through the back loops of each square, using an invisible stitch. Repeat in rows, then join rows together in one seam.

Border: 1st Rnd - Using Col1, draw up a loop in a corner space, 1ch, 1dc in same corner, 3 ch, 2dc in same corner. *1 dc in the back loop of each st along the side to the next corner, (2dc, 3ch, 2dc ) in this corner. Repeat from * 2 more times, 1 dc in the back loop of each st along the last side to the start of the first corner, 1dc in the corner, sl st into the top of the first dc of the rnd.

2nd Rnd - 1ch, 1dc in corner, 2ch, 2 dc same corner, *1 dc in each st to the next corner, (2dc, 2ch, 2dc in this corner), repeat from * 2 more times, 1 dc in each st to the first corner, 1 dc in first corner, sl st, in the top of the first dc worked. Fasten off.

Weave in all loose ends.
