OMBRE SUNSET SHRUG

Instructions

Reference the downloadable project sheet for project pattern diagrams.

Note: Shrug is worked from centre back to the sleeve ends for the best use of this Ombre Yarn. The sleeve seams are sewn, then cuffs and collar are crocheted directly on to Shrug.

Beg first side of back of Shrug -

Using the centre pull of one ball of yarn and 6mm hook, make 117ch.

1st Row - Miss 3ch (counts as 1tr), 1tr in back bump of next and each ch to end ... 115sts.

2nd Row - 3ch (counts as 1tr throughout), 1tr in next and each st to end.

3rd - 43rd Rows - Rep 2nd row. If you need to start the second ball, use the outside end of the yarn, so it continues in the same shade.

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing sleeve seam.

Beg second side of back of Shrug -

Join centre pull of second ball of yarn to opp side of 1st ch of centre back.

1st Row - 3ch, 1tr in opp side of next and each ch to end.

Complete as for first side of back, starting the third ball from the outside end of the yarn.

Lay Shrug flat with centre back lying vertically. Bring the two points on the left-hand side together (Fig. 1), and the two points on the right-hand side together to shape the sleeves. Sew the sleeve seams from the corners until a hole of approx 12cm is left open (34sts around).

Beg Cuffs -

Join yarn from centre pull of 3rd ball to st nearest the sleeve seam. Using 6mm hook,

1st Rnd - 1ch (does not count as a st throughout), 1htr in same and each st around, slst into htr at beg ... 34sts.

2nd - 12th Rnd - Rep 1st rnd.

Fasten off.

Beg Edging -

Using the outside yarn end of third ball, join to any st of lower edge of Shrug. Using 6mm hook,

1st Rnd - 1ch, 2htr around each edge st all the way around Shrug, slst into htr at beg.

2nd - 12th Rnd - 1ch, 1htr in same and each st around, slst into htr at beg.

Fasten off.

Finishing
