Instructions

Back

Using size 3 mm needles, cast on 123 (137-149-163) sts.

Beg Rib -

1st row (RS) - K2, * P1, K1, rep from * to last st, K1.

2nd row - K1, * P1, K1, rep from * to end.

Rep 1st and 2nd row until work measures 3.5cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row.

Change to 3.50 mm needles.

Work in stocking st until work measures 19cm from beg, ending with a purl row.

Shape Armholes -

Cast off 9 (11-12-14) sts at beg of next 2 rows ... 105 (115-125-135) sts.

Next row - K1, sl 1, K1, psso, knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.

Next row - Purl.

Rep last 2 rows until 87 (93-101-107) sts rem, ending with a purl row.

Cont without shaping until armholes measure 19 (20-21-22) cm, ending with a purl row.

Shape Shoulders -

Cast off 8 (9-9-10) sts at beg of next 4 rows, then 8 (8-10-10) sts at beg of foll 2 rows.

Leave rem 39 (41-45-47) sts on a stitch-holder.

Left Front

Using 3.50 mm needles, cast on 15 (19-21-25) sts.

Working in stocking st, cast on 2 (2-3-3) sts at beg (front edge) of every foll alt row until there are 41 (51-51-58) sts, then inc one st at same edge in next row, then in every foll alt row until there are 51 (59-65-71) sts.

Cont without shaping until work measures 15.5cm from beg (noting 3.5cm for lower band will be worked later), ending with a purl row.

Shape Armhole & Front Slope -

Next row (RS) - Cast off 9 (11-12-14) sts, knit to end ... 42 (48-53-57) sts.

Next row - Purl.

Next row - K1, sl1, K1, psso, knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.

Cont dec one st (as before) at armhole edge in every foll alt row 8 (10-11-13) times, AT SAME TIME dec one st (as before) at Front edge in every foll 8th (6th-4th-4th) row 2 (3-4-2) times.

Sizes L and XL only -

Dec one st (as before) at Front edge in foll 6th row (1-3) time/s.

All Sizes ... 30 (33-35-37) sts.

Work 7 (3-5-5) rows.

Dec one st (as before) at Front edge only in next row, then in every foll 6th row until 24 (26-28-30) sts rem.

Cont without shaping until armhole measures 19 (20-21-22) cm, ending with a purl row.

Shape Shoulder -

Cast off 8 (9-9-10) sts at beg of next row, then in foll alt row.

Work 1 row. Cast off rem 8 (8-10-10) sts.

Right Front

Using 3.50 mm needles, cast on 15 (19-21-25) sts.

Working in stocking st, cast on 2 (2-3-3) sts at beg (front edge) of next row, then in every foll alt row until there are 41 (51-51-58) sts, then inc one st at same edge in every foll alt row until there are 51 (59-65-71) sts.

Cont without shaping until work measures 15.5cm from beg (noting 3.5 cm for lower band will be worked later), ending with a purl row.

Work 1 row.

Shape Armhole & Front Slope -

Next row (WS) - Cast off 9 (11-12-14) sts, purl to end ... 42 (48-53-57) sts.

Next row - K1, sl 1, K1, psso, knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.

Cont dec one st (as before) at armhole edge in every foll alt row 8 (10-11-13) times, AT SAME TIME dec one st (as before) at Front edge in every foll 8th (6th-4th-4th) row 2 (3-4-2) times.

Dec one st (as before) at Front edge in foll 6th row (1-3) time/s.

All Sizes ... 30 (33-35-37) sts.

Work 7 (3-5-5) rows.

Dec one st (as before) at Front edge only in next row, then in every foll 6th row until 24 (26-28-30) sts rem.

Cont without shaping until armhole measures 19 (20-21-22) cm, ending with a purl row.

Work 1 row.

Shape Shoulder -

Complete as for Left Front shoulder.

Sleeves

Using 3 mm needles, cast on 57 (59-63-65) sts.

Beg Rib -

Work 5 cm rib as for lower band of Back, ending with a 2nd row and inc 6 sts evenly across last row ... 63 (65-69-71) sts.

Change to 3.50mm needles.

Work 4 rows stocking st.

5th row - K1, inc in next st, knit to last 3 sts, inc in next st, K2.

Cont inc one st (as before) at each end of every foll 8th (6th-4th-4th) row until there are 81 (91-77-103) sts, then in every foll 10th (8th-6th-6th) row until there are 83 (93-101-111) sts.

Cont without shaping until work measures 46cm from beg, ending with a purl row.

Shape Top -

Cast off 5 (6-6-7) sts at beg of next 2 rows ... 73 (81-89-97) sts.

Next row - K1, sl 1, K1, psso, knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.

Cont dec one st (as before) at each end of every foll alt row until 29 (41-53-61) sts rem, ending with a dec row.

Next row (WS) - P1, P2tog, purl to last 3 sts, P2tog tbl, P1.

Cont dec one st (as before) at each end of every row until 19 sts rem.

Cast off loosely.

Right Front & Lower Band

Using mattress st, join shoulder seams. With RS facing, using 3mm circular needle, knit up 15 (19-21-25) sts evenly along cast-on sts at lower edge, 80sts evenly along curved edge and straight edge to beg of Front Slope shaping, 70 (73-77-82) sts evenly along Front edge to shoulder, then 20 (21-23-24) sts evenly across half of back stitch-holder ... 185 (193-201-211) sts.

Work 3.5 cm in rib as for lower band of Back, beg and ending with a 2nd row.

Cast off loosely in rib.

Left Front & Lower Band

With RS facing, using 3mm circular needle, knit across rem sts on Back stitch-holder - inc one st in first st, knit up 70 (73-77-82) sts evenly along right Front edge to beg of Front slope shaping, 80sts evenly along straight edge and curved edge to cast -on sts, then 15 (19-21-25) sts evenly along cast-on sts at lower edge ... 185 (193-201-211) sts.

Work 3.5 cm in rib as for lower band of Back, beg and ending with a 2nd row.

Cast off loosely in rib.

I-Cord / I-Cord Loops (Make 2)

Using 3mm circular needles, cast of 4sts, DO NOT TURN. Slide sts to other end of needle, pull yarn tight, knit these 4sts again. Rep until I-Cord measures approx. 80cm. Leaving long tail, using yarn needle, thread through all sts, pull tight. For loops, cast on 8sts, turn, cast off. Sew loops onto Fronts starting at last inc.

Finishing

DO NOT PRESS. Join side and sleeve seams. Sew in sleeves. Join bands together at centre back neck. Sew in all ends. Thread I-Cord through loops on Fronts and tie.
