Decorations

Note: These templates are at scale.

Tree

  1. To make a template pattern for tree shape, use the provided diagram to measure and mark out tree shape & base. Cut template pattern out.
  2. Using this template pattern, cut out 1x tree shape from iron-on wadding on the fold.
  3. Place fleece tree, glue side down on top of the green felt. Allowing for 10mm extra edge around the fleece edge, cut out tree shape. Fuse fleece to felt.
  4. With fleece side down, place cut tree shape on top of remaining of the green felt fabric, sandwiching the fleece between the two felt layers. Pin layers together and cut the remaining felt to same upper tree shape. (Keep all off cuts and leftover green felt for the pockets)
  5. Sew all layers together around the outer edges in at the 10mm seam allowance.
  6. From template provided, cut out the tree base from red felt and a piece measuring 8cm high by 10cm wide.
  7. To make the base pocket, pin small red felt rectangle to the middle of the tree base. Sew rectangle to base, 5mm in from edge along the base and sides, leaving the top of the pocket open.
  8. Pin the red tree base on top of the base of the tree in green felt fabric, aligning outer edges. Sew base to tree shape 10mm in from outer edges.

Pockets

  1. From remaining green felt, cut out: 6x 6cm squares, 5x 7cm squares, 5x 8cm squares, 4x 10cm squares and 3x 8x10cm rectangles.
  2. Lay tree on a flat surface, and arrange pockets as per image or as desired. Pin to tree along the side and base edges of pockets.
  3. Sew pockets to tree through all layers 5mm in from edges along the base and sides, leaving the top of the pockets open.
  4. From assorted coloured felt, cut out the following numbers to a height of 25mm: 13x number 1, 8x number 2, 3x each of number 3 & 4, 2x each of numbers 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 0
  5. Arrange numbers onto pockets as per desired. Glue numbers to pockets.

Decorations

  1. Using template provided, cut two stars from daffodil felt fabric.
  2. Sew stars together, 5mm in from outer edges.

  2. Tie a bow from gingham ribbon and glue to the neckline of gingerbread man.
  3. Glue two buttons evenly spaced below the gingham bow onto gingerbread man shape.

Candy Canes

  1. Using template provided, cut 2x candy cane shapes from white felt & 1x from red felt.
  2. Cut up the red candy cane shape into sections as per indicated on the template.
  3. Glue every second cut section onto the two white candy cane shapes, making two full candy canes.

Baubles

  1. Using template provided, cut out the larger circle bauble shapes from sky blue, pink and royal felt.
  2. Cut a small piece from daffodil felt measuring 13mm high by 25mm wide for the top hanger of the bauble. Glue to the top of the bauble circle shape.
  3. Cut a piece of ric rac trim to the width of the bauble and glue in place in the centre of the shape.

Small Circle Baubles

  1. Using template provided, cut out 15x of the smaller circle bauble shapes from desired coloured felt fabrics.
  2. Place the star and decorations onto the tree as per image or as desired.
  3. Once happy with arrangement, glue star and decorations to tree, ensuring to keep the top of the pockets all open.
