Party Cups

Serve Every Sip in Style with Party Cups for Every Celebration

At Spotlight, we know that great drinks are central to any celebration. Guests grab a drink as soon as they arrive, kids come back for refills, and drink stations quickly become a hub of activity. That's why birthday parties, baby showers, kids' events, backyard BBQs and seasonal gatherings all need the right party cup in hand.

The right party cups make serving easy, help you colour-match your table and keep clean-up fast. And we carry a wide range across dozens of colours, themes and sizes, so there's always a perfect fit for your next event.

Choosing the Perfect Cup for Every Drink

Different drinks work best with different cup sizes. Water, soft drinks, juice, punch and mocktails are all easy to serve in standard party cups, while smaller cups can work well for kids, tasting tables or sample stations. Larger cups are often the better choice for BBQs, picnics, a pool party or casual outdoor celebrations where guests may refill their drinks throughout the day. Hot drinks need a little extra care. If you're serving tea, coffee or hot chocolate, look for ones specially designed for heat, like double-wall paper coffee cups.

Match Your Cups to Your Celebration

Picking cups that suit your occasion pulls the whole table together. Here are some simple guides for each event:

• For a birthday party, go bright and bold or pick cups with licensed character prints for a kids' themed party
• For a baby shower or bridal shower, soft pastel designs and elegant prints set the right mood.
• For a hen party, fun and playful prints always get the conversation going.
• For an engagement or wedding, champagne glasses and designs in white, gold or cream add a polished touch.
• For a gender reveal, pastel pink and blue cups tie the whole look together.
• For a dinner party or cocktail party, choose something sleek and refined.
• For a pool party or outdoor BBQ, go for sturdy cups in bright, bold colours.
• For Halloween, Easter, and Christmas, seasonal-printed cups make the whole table feel festive.

How Many Party Cups Do You Really Need?

A good rule of thumb is two to three cups per guest. That accounts for refills, lost cups and shared drink stations. For 100 guests at a Halloween party, for instance, plan on around 250 cups in total. Kids' parties and outdoor events call for a few extras. Kids tend to put cups down and forget about them, and outdoor settings mean more spills. Always keep a backup pack within reach.

Should You Choose Disposable Paper or Reusable Party Cups?

For most large events, disposable cups are the practical choice, but reusable options are worth it if you host regularly. Disposable cups keep clean-up fast after big birthday parties, Halloween gatherings and seasonal celebrations. Reusable cups are sturdier and a smarter option for repeat hosting and outdoor dining. For adult parties, milestone birthdays or events where real glassware is a liability, Spotlight also has heaps of high-quality rigid plastic drinkware from brands like Alpen. Think plastic wine glasses, beer glasses, champagne flutes, cocktail glasses, shot glasses and goblets. These bring the look and feel of proper glassware without the breakage risk. They're perfect for cocktail parties, nightclub-inspired home celebrations and any occasion where you want style without the stress.

Clever Ways to Use Party Cups Beyond Drinks

Party cups have heaps of uses beyond serving drinks. Here are a few ideas worth trying:

• Pack them with confectionery and small treats as part of your party bags & favours.
• Use them as snack holders for popcorn, chips or lollies at the dessert table.
• Set them out at a kids' craft station to hold brushes, pencils and supplies.
• Fill them with soil and seeds as quirky take-home gifts at a garden-themed event.
