Make Half-Square Triangles

- Coloured + background - star points
- Coloured + coloured - centre - Sew 1/4" on both sides of the line.

Assemble Pouch Panels
- Sew two stars together to form one panel.
- Repeat for second panel.
- Fuse fleece if using.
- Quilt as desired.
Prepare Zipper
- Place a fabric tab right sides together on the zipper tape inside the metal stops, positioning it far enough from the stops to allow them to be trimmed off after sewing.
- Sew across the zipper approximately 1/4" from the edge of the tab.
- Flip the tab away from the zipper, press, and topstitch close to the fold.
- Repeat for the opposite end.
After both tabs are attached, trim off the metal zipper stops.
This prevents sewing over metal and allows the zipper to be stitched cleanly into the pouch.
Insert Zipper
- Place the zipper right side down on the right side of one outer panel.
- Place one lining piece right side down on top, aligning edges.
- Sew along the zipper edge.
- Fold fabrics away from the zipper, press, and topstitch 1/8" from the edge.
- Repeat for the other side of the zipper using the remaining outer panel and lining.
Construct The Pouch
- Open the zipper halfway.
- Bring outer panels right sides together and lining pieces right sides together.
- Align seams and clip in place.
- Sew around the entire perimeter, leaving a 2-3" gap in the lining for turning.
- Turn the pouch right side out through the lining gap.
- Push out corners and press.
- Stitch the lining opening closed.
- Push lining into pouch and shape.
