Instructions
For each bag cut 18cm x 22cm 2 rectangles of Outer Fabric and 2 rectangles of coordinating lining fabric
- Pin fabric wrong sides together.
- Sew a 1cm seam allowance around 3 sides leaving the top short edge open.
- With the lining fabric sew down both long sides and across the bottom leaving an 8cm gap.
- Turn the outer bag right side out and put this inside the lining bag so that right sides are together.
- Pin the top edges of the bags together then sew around.
- Pull the outer bag through the bottom opening in the lining fabric.
- Tuck the lining into the outer bag.
- Press.
- At side seams mark 3.5cm down from top, then around the whole bag to indicate stitching line.
- Sew a line of stitching around the bags 3.5 cm from top edge, through the outer and lining making sure to overstitch at side seams to reinforce.
- Sew another line 2.5 cm away from the first stitching line again reinforcing at side seams.
- Place pins at stitching lines at side seams then with a quick unpick open the stitching between the 2 pins. (Pins will prevent you from cutting too far through the seam).
- Do this on both side seams where the stitching lines are to create a channel for the ribbon.
- Thread ribbon through one side and out through the same opening then repeat on the other side opening.
- Knot two ends of ribbon together then the other two ends together.
- Now you have ribbon draw strings.
- Fill with lots of goodies.
