Wrap With Love: Help Create Wraps For Those In Need

Spotlight, in partnership with World Vision Australia, proudly supports Wrap With Love, a nonprofit organisation run entirely by volunteers that aims to provide wraps, quilts and similar items to people in need. What began in 1992 after Wrap With Love founder, Sonia Gidley King, OAM, wondered how she could help make a difference to those affected by the war in Mozambique, has grown into an incredible organisation that has provided wraps to over 600,000 people in Australia and around the world. Wrap With Love relies on donations of crafted goods, cash, craft and packaging supplies, transport and other services, so keep reading to find out how you can help!

What To Donate?

To donate, you can simply make knitted or crochet squares. These squares will be matched up with other donated squares to be made into wraps. Squares should be 25 cm x 25 cm in size. A completed wrap consists of 28 squares sewn up in 4 rows of 7 squares, making a wrap that is 100 cm by 175 cm.

If you prefer to make a complete wrap not made up of squares, you can use any pattern you like, as long as it is 100 cm x 175 cm when finished.

You can check out the Wrap With Love Facebook page for pictures and examples of what others have made!

How To Donate

Finished squares or blankets can be dropped off at the designated collection points in all Spotlight stores. Or, you can deliver your items to the Wrap With Love Warehouse at Unit 4, 4 Huntley Street, Alexandria NSW 2015 (Wednesdays and Fridays 9.30am - 2.30pm), where a helpful volunteer will connect any donated squares together to make a complete wrap.

Alternatively, squares can be posted directly to Wrap With Love in Sydney at PO Box 10, Rosebery NSW 1445.

Please remember to include your contact details, preferably your e-mail address, so we can let you know when they arrive at the warehouse.
