P: purl

dec: decrease (knit or purl 2 stitches together)

inc: increase (knit or purl into the front and back of a stitch)
incl: inclusive/including
kfb: knit into the front and back of the same stitch
K2tog: knit 2 stitches together
P2tog: purl 2 stitches together
patt: pattern
PM: place marker (knit to where marker goes, place it on right needle, then when you reach marker in next row slip it from left needle to right)
prev: previous
psso: pass slipped stitch over the last stitch worked
rem: remain/ing
rep: repeat
rnd: round
RS: right side
sl: slip
st/s: stitch/es
tbl: through the back of the loop
tog: together
WS: wrong side
ybk: yarn back (take yarn under needle from
purling: position into knitting position, without making a st)
yfwd: yarn forward (bring yarn under needle then over into knitting position again, making a st)
yon: yarn over needle
yrn: yarn around needle (take yarn right around needle into purling position, making a st)
M1: make 1 stitch by picking up the loop before the next stitch, placing it on the left-hand needle and knit or purl into back of the loop
MC: main colour
CC: contrast colour
C1, C2, etc: 1st colour, 2nd colour, etc

Magic Circle is used when you want a tight circle with no hole in the middle = wrap yarn twice around your finger & work a slip stitch into the loop, slip the loop off your finger and work the first round into the ring (over the two strands), pull the yarn tail to tighten the loop to create an invisible centre. (ie: sl st into lp, work 6dc into lp, sl st into 1st dc, then pull tail to close centre).

Garter stitch knit every row
Stocking stitch knit 1 row, purl 1 row
Moss stitch knit 1, purl 1. Next row knit all purl stitches and purl all knit stitches.
1 x 1 Rib K1, P1, rep to end. Next row knit all knit sts, purl all purl sts.
2 x 2 Rib K2, P2, rep to end. Next row knit all knit sts, purl all purl sts.
