Level: Beginner
What you'll need:
- 4 Seasons 8 Ply Marvel 100g Yarn:
- Neon Orange (MC) x 1 (1-2-2)
- Neon Yellow (CC) x 1.
- Size 4 mm and 3.25 mm knitting needles or sizes required to give correct tension.
- 2 stitch-holders.
- 8 cm Sew On Hook & Loop for fastening.
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure.

Tension
22 sts x 30 rows to 10 cm over stocking st, using 4 mm needles.
Instructions
Back & Fronts (Worked in one piece to armholes)
Using 3.25 mm needles and MC, cast on 143 (155-165-177) sts.
NOTE - Work in ROWS, not rounds.
Knit 5 rows Garter st (1st row is WS).
Change to 4mm needles.
1st row (RS) - Knit.
2nd row - K4, purl to last 4 sts, K4.
Rep last 2 rows until work measures 6.5 (7-7.5-8.5) cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row, break off MC.
Using CC, rep 1st and 2nd row for 5 (6-6.5-7) cm, ending with a 2nd row, break off CC.
Using MC, rep 1st and 2nd rows for 6.5 (7-7.5-8.5) cm, ending with a 2nd row, break off MC.
Using CC, rep 1st and 2nd rows for 5 (6-6.5-7) cm, ending with a 2nd row, break off CC.
Using MC for rem, rep 1st and 2nd rows for 2cm, ending with a 2nd row.
Divide For Back and Fronts -
1st row (RS) - K36 (39-42-45), turn.
Cont on these 36 (39-42-45) sts for rem of Right Front.
2nd row - K4, purl to last 4 sts, K4.
3rd row - K4, sl 1, K1, psso (front edge dec), knit to end.
4th row - K4, purl to last 4 sts, K4.
Cont dec one st (as before) at front edge in foll 3rd row, then in every foll 4th row until 28 (31-33-35) sts rem, then in every foll alt row until 22 (24-25-27) sts rem.
Work 3 rows without shaping.
Cast off loosely.
With RS facing, join MC to rem sts and knit across next 71 (77-81-87) sts, turn.
Cont on these 71 (77-81-87) sts for rem of Back.
Next row (WS) - K4, purl to last 4 sts, K4.
Next row - Knit.
Rep last 2 rows until armhole measures same as Right Front from divide to end of shaping, ending with a RS row.
Next row (WS) - K4, P18 (20-21-23), K27 (29-31-33), P18 (20-21-23), K4.
Next row - Knit.
Next row - K4, P18 (20-21-23), K27 (29-31-33), P18 (20-21-23), K4.
Cast off loosely.
With RS facing, join MC to rem 36 (39-42-45) sts and knit to end.
Cont on these sts for rem of Left Front.
Next row (WS) - K4, purl to last 4 sts, K4.
Next row - Knit to last 6 sts, K2tog (front edge dec), K4.
Cont dec one st (as before) at front edge in foll 3rd row, then in every foll 4th row until 28 (31-33-35) sts rem, then in every foll alt row until 22 (24-25-27) sts rem.
Work 3 rows without shaping.
Cast off loosely.
Pockets (Make 2)
Using 4 mm needles and MC, cast on 20 (24-24-28) sts.
Work in stocking st until work measures 4cm from beg, ending with a purl row, break off MC.
Using CC, work in stocking for 5 (6-6.5-7) cm, ending with a purl row, break off CC.
Using MC for rem, work in stocking st for 3 cm, ending with a knit row.
Change to 3.25 mm needles.
Work 5 rows Garter st (beg with a knit row).
Cast off loosely.
Finishing
DO NOT PRESS. Using mattress st, join shoulder seams, noting that Garter ridges at top of Back form back neck. Neatly slip stitch pockets to centre of front pieces, matching stripes. Sew in all ends. Hand or machine sew 'Sew On Hook & Loop to Fronts for fastening.
