BLANKIE MAMMOTH HANDKNIT SCARF
Level: Beginner
What you'll need:
1 x Value Ball Blankie Mammoth 1.8 kg Yarn (Vanilla)
Finished Size
Approx. 40 cm wide x 275 cm long (or shorter length if desired)
Tension
2.5sts x 3 rows to 10 cm
Instructions
Note: This project is made using hands and fingers only, no knitting needles required. The tension needs to be worked as evenly as possible by pulling each stitch to the same length and keeping the yarn flowing loosely. DO NOT TURN the work unless mentioned in the instructions. Rows are worked from right to left and left to right. All stitches are worked the same way. Keep the working yarn facing in the direction of the stitches to be knitted thus not to twist. Rest the project on your lap or a table while in progress.
Using fingers and Blankie Mammoth yarn, make 10 chains.
Border
1st Row - (worked right to left) miss 1ch, pull up a loop/stitch (approx. 3 cm long and close to each other) through each chain to end ... 10sts, DO NOT TURN.
2nd Row - (worked left to right) miss 1st (selvage), knit to end ... 10sts, DO NOT TURN.
Rep last row (alt between forth and back) another 5 times for a total of 7 rows, TURN.
CHECK TENSION here. If too loose, scarf will be wider, use more yarn and will not be as long.
Main
Rep working forth and back until piece measures approx. 250cm from beg or length desired, ending at left-hand selvage, TURN.
Border
Work another 7 rows more. Cast off loosely and fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in ends and tie a knot before trimming to avoid unravelling.
