FELT FLOWER BOUQUET

Lavender Stems

Step 1

Cut a strip from purple felt fabric measuring 6cm wide by 25cm long.

Fold the width of the strip in half, and glue the two long sides together along the edges.

Using sharp scissors, snip into the folded long side of the felt at intervals of 3mm to make a looped fringe.

Step 2

Glue one end of the unfringed end of felt to the top of the wire. Gluing as you go, wrap the felt tightly around the wire spiralling downwards.

Step 3

Cut 2x small leaf shapes from green felt from the template provided.

Place a small amount of glue on the base end of one leaf and pinch this end of leaf around the wire at the base of the lavender flower. Repeat with another leaf just below the first with the leaf pointing out the opposite way.

Foliage Stems & Large Leaves

Step 1

Foliage Stems: From template provided, cut 2x small leaves and 6x larger leaves per foliage stems.

Using large needle make a hole in the middle of each of the leaves.

Large Leaves: From template provided, cut 1x leaf per wire stem.

Step 2

Foliage Stems: Thread one of the smaller leaves on to the wire and bring up to the top of the wire.

Place a small amount glue onto the leaf where the wire is threaded through, and pinch the leaf up to the wire to secure.

Repeat with the next smaller leaf about 3cm down from the first.

Continue to attach the larger leaves in the same manner, slower increasing the gap between the leaves as you go down the wire.

Large Leaves: Place a thin line of glue up through the middle of the leaf and place wire on top with end of wire at the tip of the leaf. Pinch leaf around wire to enclose the wire stem.

White Forget Me Nots Flower Stems

Step 1

From template provided: cut 3x flower shapes from white felt and 3x pieces measuring 12mm high by 50mm wide from yellow felt

Using large needle, make a hole in the middle of each of the flowers.

Step 2

Glue one end of a wire stem to the short end of one of the yellow felt pieces. Gluing as you go, wrap and roll the felt tightly around the wire to form a tight swirl.

Step 3

Thread a flower onto the stem below the yellow swirl and push up, glueing in place to base of swirl.

Working one petal at a time, place a small amount of glue at the middle of the base of the petal where it meets the centre swirl. Pinch petal together at glue to form a pinched petal shape. Repeat to complete flower.

Step 4

Cut 2x 8cm lengths of floral wire.

Repeat to make two more flowers, this time attaching them to the shorter lengths of wire.

Attach the shorter wired flowers to the first main stem with flower, spacing them down the wire as per desired, by tightly twisting and wrapping the wire around the main wire stem.
