Instructions
Be a Wearable Art Star - By Fifi Colston
- Cut 1 strip of card measuring 4cm wide x 60cm and 2 strips measuring 4cm x 40cm
- Staple the two shorter strips together through the centres so that they form a + shape.
- Wrap the longer strip around your head and tape it together so it makes a band. It should fit just above your eyebrows.
- Place the + shape over the top of your head, fold the edges under, take it off and staple it to the band.
Tip: Have a friend help you with the fitting!
Congratulations! You now have a handy hat base to decorate! Here are some suggestions for things to glue, tape and staple on:
- Taniwha /dragon spikes: The pointy insides of an egg crate
- Scales: EVA foam sheets
- Ears: Cut a paper plate in half, then in half again. Shape and staple each quarter piece into animal ears. Extra decoration with EVA foam looks cool!
- Hair: Cut strips of brightly printed cardstock and curl them
- Bling: Use pom poms, chenille sticks and rhinestones to make your creation sparkle and WOW!
