OMNIBIRD BROOCH
Level: Intermediate
What you'll need:
- Crafters Choice EVA foam sheets
- Arbee Acrylic Felt Pack
- Semco Joggle Eyes
- Gloo Rapid Dry Craft Glue
- Feathers (we used an Amscan Multicoloured Mix N Match Feather Boa)
- Ribtex Brooch Back
- Crafters Choice Bling Rhinestones
- Scissors, black Sharpie marker
- Optional: Needle and Semco embroidery thread
Instructions
- Using the templates, cut out a bird shape from black EVA foam.
- Cut out a beak shape from coloured EVA foam. It will be smaller than the black base. Glue it on. Draw the nostril holes on with the Sharpie Marker.
- Cut out the bird colours from felt. You can trim them into feathery layers. Don't glue anything yet! This is the time to work out how it is going to look.
- Glue any real feathers you are planning to use onto the black base.
- Glue the felt layers on top, one by one.
- Optional: Stitching. Separate 2 strands of embroidery thread and, with a needle, stitch through all the layers of felt and EVA foam base. The stitching adds a lovely hand crafted feel and keeps all the bits together!
- Glue on the joggle eye/s and bling your bird with rhinestones
- Glue a brooch back on and now you have your very own beautiful bird!
