Instructions

Front

Cast on 76-82-90-94-102-114 sts and work double moss stitch (see separate page). When piece measures 20, 25 and 30 cm, dec 1 st each side (6 sts) = 70-76-84-88-96-108 sts.
When piece measures 35-37-39-41-43-45 cm, cast on new sts for sleeves in each side on every other row as follows:

Long Sleeve: 1 st 2 times, 2 sts 2 times, 3 sts 4 times, 5 sts 4 times, 6 sts 3 times and 8 sts 1 time = 64 new sts on each side.

Short Sleeve: 1 st 2 times, 2 sts 2 times, 3 sts 4 times, 5 sts 4 times = 38 new sts on each side.

Neck Split

At the same time, when piece measures 40-43-47-50-53-56 cm, knit 4 rows garter st over the middle 4 sts (remaining sts in double moss stitch). Continue knitting 1 row (all sts) from the right side, purl 1 row from the wrong side, but work the middle 8 sts in garter st, knit 1 row from the right side (all sts). Now divide the piece mid front for neck slit and finish each side separately. Put half the sts on a stitch holder.

Left Side

Purl 1 row from the wrong side with the 4 sts towards mid front in garter st, knit 1 row from the right side, purl 1 row from the wrong side but work the 6 sts towards mid front in garter st, knit 1 row from the right side, purl 1 row from the wrong side but work the 9 sts towards mid front in garter st, knit 1 row from the right side and purl 1 row from the wrong side but work the 10 sts towards mid front in garter st, at the same time, casting off the 4 outermost sts towards mid front. Now knit 1 row from the right side, purl 1 row from the wrong side but work the 6 sts towards mid front in garter st, at the same time casting off the 2 outermost sts towards mid front, knit 1 row from the right side, purl 1 row from the wrong side but work the 4 sts towards mid front in garter st, at the same time casting off the 1 outermost st. Continue in double moss stitch with the 3 sts towards mid front in garter st until finished measurements. When piece measures cm 64-67-70-73-76-79 cm, cast off loosely with double moss stitch. Work other side.

Back

Cast on and work same as front but without the dec for neck slit. When piece measures 62-65-68-71-74 cm, knit 4 rows garter stitch over the middle 18 sts. Now cast off the middle 12 sts from the right side for neck and purl 1 row from the wrong side with 4 sts towards the neckline in garter st, and at the same time casting off 1 st towards the neckline. When piece measures 64-67-70-73-76-79 cm, cast off loosely with double moss stitch.
Work other side.

Finishing

Join shoulders and sleeve seams using. Sew sleeve and side seams down to where you have approx. 15cm left - which will be left open as a slit in the side.
