Instructions

Reference the downloadable project sheet for project pattern diagrams.

Note: This project has been worked on bigger needles than stated on product. If using circular needle, work in rows, not rounds. Follow colour and working order sequences as set out below.

Square 1

Using 4.50mm knitting needle and colour indicated on table, cast on 43sts.

Set up Row (WS) - K20, place marker place marker (pm), knit to end.

1st Row (RS) - Knit to within 3sts of marker, sl1, K2tog, psso, remove marker, K1, pm, knit to end ... 41 sts.

2nd Row - Knit.

Rep 1st and 2nd Row until one st remains. Break off yarn and pull yarn through stitch.

Square 2

Using a long length of yarn, cast on 21sts.

With RS facing, angle Square 1 so cast-on edges are on left-hand and bottom sides of square, knit up 22sts along the side edge of Square 1 ... 43sts.

Set up Row (WS) - K20, pm, knit to end.

1st Row (RS) - Knit to within 3sts of marker, sl1, K2tog, psso, remove marker, K1, pm, knit to end.

2nd Row - Knit.

Rep 1st and 2nd Row until one st remains. Break off yarn and pull yarn through stitch.

Squares 3 - 10

Continuing as set out for Square 2, creating first line of horizontal squares as per table above.

Square 11

(working from left to right onto first row) With RS facing, knit up 22sts along top of Square 1, cast-on 21sts using Thumb or Cable cast-on method ... 43sts. Cont as per Square 1.

Squares 12 - 20

With RS facing, knit up 22sts along top of Square 2 (or next Square) , then knit up 21sts along the side of Square 11 (or next Square) ... 43sts,

Cont as per Square 1 ... second horizontal row of Squares finished.

Squares 21 - 150

Continue as set out above, following instructions of Squares 11 - 20 (second row), until 15 horizontal rows have been worked.

Finishing
