Wall hanging Assembly
Columns
- Three columns with alternating blocks: star - house - sashing - house - star
- Two columns with houses and sashing alternating: sashing - house - sashing - house - sashing - house - sashing
Join columns with vertical sashing strips between them.
Add sashing strips at top and bottom as desired for finishing.
Finishing
Columns
Cut backing fabric and wadding (batting) slightly larger than your pieced top.
Layer quilt top, batting, and backing. Baste and quilt as desired.
Prepare a hanging sleeve/strip and sew it to the top edge of the back of the wall hanging.
Attach binding to the front of the quilt, sew around, and fold binding to the back.
Hand-tack the binding to the back, catching the hanging strip into the top edge as you sew.
