DRAGON FACE PAINT
Level: Intermediate
What you'll need:
- BYS Face Paint Palette Fire
- BYS Colour Wheel Black
- BYS Colour Wheel White
- Flat Brush
- Small Fine Brush
- Face Gems
- Wet wipes
- Water to clean brush
Instructions
- Start with a clean, moisturised face
- Wet a flat brush and, using the BYS Cosmetics SFX Face & Body Paint Palette in Fire, coat it back and forward
- Start at the top of the forehead, draw two circles
- Re-wet the brush and add two more circles above the previous ones
- Repeat this process and add a final small circle
- To create the body, add one big swipe down the side of the face. Go back into the product and go over to intensify
Note: Always make sure you're cleaning your brushes in between steps
Note: You can always go back and define throughout the process when needed - To create the tail, start with the angled side of the brush and create a s-shaped curved line
- Pick up a smaller brush, dip it into the orange and red shades. Take off any excess colour and add small spines to the body
- Using the other end of the same brush, create the tail with the yellow shade
- Add a little depth to the tail with a few flicks of orange
- Using the BYS Cosmetics SFX Colour Wheel in White on a clean brush, wait until it's dry and add half circle motions to create scales
- Using the small fine brush, create the eyes and teeth with the white shade
- Create a small semi-circle at the base of the red for the eyes. This can be filled with white, as black will follow
- Underneath the mouth, create little 'v' shapes for the fangs
- Now, using the BYS Cosmetics SFX Colour Wheel in Black, we will define the look. Remember you barely want to touch the skin when you're doing small intricate parts
- Create the eyes and the mouth with fine black strokes
- Then, with the black shade, define the spine and the tail from the body
- To add the flame coming through the nostrils, go back in with the yellow shade and add little flicks. Continue this using the orange and white shades, but you can use any colours you wish
- Go back with the white shade and add some flicks to the tail
- Fill the gaps from the body and the head with orange and red shades
- Then use the yellow shade to connect to the flames
- To create a symmetrical look, go in with black again on the right eye and add a smokey flame
- Using the Face Gems, start with the smallest gems on the dragon eyes
- Complete the look by using as many Face Gems as you wish, ensuring they stay symmetrical
