SCANDI STAR GARLAND
Level: Beginner
What you'll need:
- Assorted Scandi fabric (you could use off-cuts, flat fats or small amounts of fabric)
- Piping cord of your choice
- Star template
- Hobby Fill
- Thread
- Pins
Instructions
Reference the downloadable project sheet for project pattern diagrams.
Note: This template is at scale.
- Trace around the template on the wrong side of the fabric, as many stars as desired, noting you need 2 per finished star. You can scale the template up or down depending on your desired outcome.
- Cut stars out of the fabric.
- Lay the piping cord out in a long length. Placing the front and backs of the stars together (wrong sides together), with the piping cord inside, pin in place in your desired placement along the cord.
- Hand or machine sew around each star, ensuring the cord stays in place, and leaving a small section open for stuffing.
- Once all the stars are sewn onto the piping cord, take a small amount of stuffing and stuff into each star. You may need to use a pencil or stuffing aid to help get into the corners.
- After stuffing, hand or machine sew the openings closed.
