Special Abbreviations / Stitches

dc2tog - double crochet 2sts together - *insert hook in next st, yoh and pull up a loop*, rep in next st ... 3 loops on hook, yoh and pull through all loops on hook.

Note: A smaller hook than recommended on the product has been used to achieve firm tension. Parts are worked in continuous rounds. Place stitch marker on last stitch of first round, remove and replace on every round.

Starting at the Top Tier, using MC and 4.50mm hook, make a magic ring.

Beg First Tier -

1st Rnd - 6dc, place marker on last st ... 6sts.

2nd Rnd - 2dc in each st around ... 12sts.

At this point, the end of rnd marker might need to be moved slightly by adding or unpicking stitches, so the Trunk will be centred onto the 3rd Tier of the Tree.

Beg Trunk -

Using yarn needle and a length of MC / C1, oversew Tier openings. Add Fibre Fill to Cushion up to this point and cont adding until finished.

Next Rnd - Change to C3. Using C3, 1dc in next 12sts, miss 32sts, 1dc in next 24sts, miss 32sts, 1dc in next 12sts, pm on last st ... 48sts.

Work 7 more rnds, 1dc in each st.

Next Rnd - *1dc in next 4sts, dc2tog*, rep to end of rnd ...40sts.

Next Rnd - *1dc in next 3sts, dc2tog*, rep to end of rnd ...32sts.

Next Rnd - *1dc in next 2sts, dc2tog*, rep to end of rnd ...24sts.

REMEMBER TO KEEP ADDING FIBRE FILL.

Next Rnd - *1dc in next st, dc2tog*, rep to end of rnd ...16sts.

Next Rnd - *dc2tog*, rep to end of rnd ...8sts, fasten off.

Using yarn needle, run end through rem sts and pull tight.

Bobbles (make as desired)

Using 8ply yarn and 3.50mm hook, make a magic ring.

1st Rnd (WS) - 8dc in centre... 8sts.

2nd Rnd (WS) - working into the centre again and covering 1st Rnd sts, make 16dc, slst in st at beg, fasten off leaving tail for sewing.

Embellishing Bows (make as desired)

Using 3.50mm hook and C1 (7 times) & White (once), make 40ch, fasten off, knot ends and trim.

Tie into a Bow.

Finishing

Place Bobbles and Bows on Cushion and securely sew in place with Bobble and Bow in White to be on top of the Tree Cushion. Using yarn needle and a length of C2, embroider Eyes & Mouth onto 2nd Tier. Sew in all ends.
