CHRISTMAS TREE CUPCAKE

Christmas Tree Cupcake Project

Instructions

  1. Bake your cupcakes as per the instructions on the Loyal Chocolate Mud Cake Mix packaging - allow to cool fully before decorating.
  2. Remove the lid from your bucket of Colour Mill Gloss Frost and microwave for approximately 30 seconds to soften. Give it a good stir and if it's still not soft enough, pop it in the microwave again for 10-second intervals until it's the texture of soft-serve ice cream.
  3. In a bowl, use Green from the Colour Mill Oil Blend Holiday Pack to colour your Gloss Frost. Stirring until thoroughly combined.
Tip: Because you're only using one colour you can save dishes by colouring straight in the bucket!
  4. Assemble a piping bag by putting your LOYAL 1M Piping Tip into the bag and snipping off the end so the piping tip protrudes - be careful not to snip too much so the piping tip is secure.
  5. It's time to pipe the trees! Point your piping tip straight down to the top of the cupcake, hovering approximately half a centimetre above the cupcake. Starting on the outer edge of the cupcake squeeze lightly and pipe around the edge. Once you've piped a complete circle, continue to pipe around and up, creating a tree. Stop squeezing and lift to create a nice point.
  6. Now it's time to create the bauble decorations. Break off 1/4 of the block of Colour Mill Decorators Dough in White and split this into 4. Use Chocolate, Red and Sky Blue from the Colour Mill Holiday Pack to colour 3 of the quarters, leaving the last one uncoloured.
  7. Once the colours have fully blended into the dough, split off smaller sections and roll into balls to create small baubles and apply to your trees.
  8. Now it's time to create the star! Melt your Colour Mill Chocolate Drip in Yellow as per the instructions on the bottle.
  9. On a piece of baking paper, use the Chocolate Drip to draw small stars.
Tip: Make this easier by printing or drawing a stencil to follow and slipping it under the baking paper.
  10. Place your stars in the fridge until fully set, then place on top of your Christmas Trees.
  11. Finally, lightly sprinkle with silver edible glitter - serve and enjoy!
