ABOUT SUKI

Suki McMaster is a homegrown Australian brand that seeks to inspire cheerful homes through their colourful and whimsical designs across homeware and baby products. The brand is the brainchild of Melbourne based artist and designer, Suki McMaster.

Despite coming from an accounting background, Suki always had an interest in art and craft from a young age. Her artistic flair allowed her to successfully sell her self-designed printed notebooks and bags at local markets while studying at university. After graduation, Suki ventured into textile design where she designed her own patterned fabrics and sold them online and at craft markets. Her designs soon caught the interest of stallholders and the market space exposed her to an array of incredible products from other designers. Ultimately, this sparked the idea to create and design her own line of homeware and baby products. After several months of hard work and determination, the Suki McMaster brand was born!

Suki describes her design style as bright and positive, drawing inspiration from nature, particularly Australian nature and her love for travelling. In more recent work, her designs are also a reflection of current affairs around the world such as climate change and women's rights. Her design philosophy is simple, she approaches each design from a storytelling perspective, with every piece of work carrying a unique tale and is inspired by personal experiences or concepts. With many things that can happen in life, Suki hopes that her designs would be able to relate to others in a more personal manner while bringing them joy.

Suki and her husband moved from Sydney to Melbourne 5 years ago to pursue their dream to open their own shop to showcase Suki's artwork and products. Since they opened their first shop at South Melbourne Market, the business has been growing strong and is recognised by lots of local and international customers.
