How are fabrics such as this one sold at Spotlight?

At Spotlight, fabrics are sold by the metre, so that you can order exactly how much you need for your desired project. We endeavour to always cut our orders in one piece, however, due to the size of the rolls provided by manufacturers, this cannot always be guaranteed. Unfortunately, due to the size of the rolls that the manufacturers produce, if you do make an order that is over 5m, it is not likely to be in one continuous piece.

How should I prepare my fabric?

All of our fabrics have been designed to help prevent colour bleeding, however, there is always a risk of this happening and is dependent upon the materials and methods that the manufacturer used. So, it is recommended that you hand wash your chosen fabric in cold water prior to making your project. This also allows for the changes in size and shapes that fabrics can undergo when it is wet.

How should I care for my project when it is complete?

It is not recommended that your machine wash these fabrics. Hand wash in cool temperatures, remove excess water, and allow to air dry in the shade, to prevent damage from the sun. Do not allow fabrics to come into contact with harsh chemicals, such as chlorine and bleach, and ironing should be conducted on a medium setting, or lower, only.
