What are the plantation shutters made of?
Spotlight's plantation shutters come in a choice of three materials – wood, fauxwood and aluminium-reinforced PVC. These materials are suited to different aesthetic and practical applications across the interior windows of any home (for example, PVC's water-resistance makes it perfect for wet or steamy rooms). They are not suitable for exterior applications.
What colours do the shutters come in?
Plantation blinds are traditionally white. Spotlight offers various shades of white including Snow (the crisp whitest of whites), Classic (the warmest white, closer to beige) and Bright (a shade of white that falls between the other two).
However, for those who want a customised look to their plantation shutters, we can accommodate your request for additional plain, painted colours or timber stains.
Do plantation shutters keep the cold out?
Given most Australian homes have single-glazed windows, we can do with some extra help when it comes to insulating our windows against the weather. Plantation blinds and shutters have proven to be excellent insulators – and great for lowering the power bills – regardless of the outside temperature.
