MERMAIDS & OUTER SPACE CANVASES

LEVEL: EASY

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Semco Acrylic paint
• 8 X 8 X 10" Canvas
• Semco palette
• Crafters choice paint brushes
• Assorted coloured card
• Scissors
• Glue gun
• Double sided tape
• Rhinestones

INSTRUCTIONS

MERMAIDS

Canvas 1:

• Cut out scale shapes from different coloured paper or cards.
• Use double sided tape to stick scales in a multi coloured pattern to the canvas.

Canvas 2:

• Paint background colour, you may need a few coats to get a solid colour.
• Once background is dry, paint on mermaid tail design.
• Use a glue gun to glue gemstones on to embellish tail.

Canvas 3:

• Paint background colour, you may need a few coats to get a solid colour.
• Once dry, draw outline of shell design and paint.
• Use glue gun to glue on gemstones and embellish shell design to finish.

Canvas 4:

• Paint background colour, you may need a few coats to get a solid colour.
• Cut out strips of glitter paper and use double sided tape to stick onto canvas once dry.
• Trace out letter onto paper and cut out.
• Attach letter to canvas using double sided tape.
• Use glue gun to glue on gemstones around the outside edge of the letter.

OUTER SPACE

Canvas 1:.

• Paint background colour, you may need a few coats to get a solid colour.
• Trace around the canvas and create a mount out of paper to frame the outside of the canvas.
• Cut out strips of glitter paper and use double sided tape to decorate the mount.
• Trace out letter onto paper and cut out.
• Attach letter to canvas using double sided tape.
• Use glue gun to glue on gemstones around the outside edge of the letter.

Canvas 2:

• Paint background colour, you may need a few coats to get a solid colour.
• Once background is dry, paint on mermaid tail design.
• Use a glue gun to glue gemstones on to embellish tail.

Canvas 3:

• Paint background colour, you may need a few coats to get a solid colour.
• Draw a rocket and use different coloured paper or card to make up rocket design. Stick together with double sided tape.
• Cut out a quarter of a circle shape and use double sided tape to stick in corner to create a moon.
• Use a hot glue gun to glue on gemstones around the outside of rocket to create stars.

Canvas 4:

• Paint background colour, you may need a few coats to get a solid colour.
• Draw planet shape and cut out of different coloured paper and card.
• Stick on canvas with double sided tape to finish.
