HASINA CUSHIONS WITH TRIMS & TASSELS

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Cut the front side of your pillow cover the size of your pillow insert.

Step 2 - Cut 2 pieces for the back side, each piece will be the same width as the front side and 1/2 of the length plus 15cm to account for the seams and overlap for the envelope opening. If your fabric has a pattern be sure that the pattern direction is going the same way as the front.

Step 3 - Fold the bottom edge of your top back piece over about 2cm and press. Then fold over again another 2cm, press and pin in place. Sew along the edge to create your finished edge. Repeat for the top edge of the bottom piece.

Step 4 - Play with your trim and tassel selections and once you are happy with your designs pin and sew them in place onto the front panel of each cushion. You can do this step once your cushions are assembled but it is easier and neater to do it before sewing your cushions together.

Step 5 - Place your front piece right side up (with the fabric and trims going in the direction you want the finished design to be) and then place the back bottom piece right side down, lining up the corners. Lay down the top back piece right side down, aligning the corners again. The two back pieces should overlap in the centre, pin in place the entire way around to secure.

Step 6 - Sew around the entire pillow with a 1cm seam allowance. Use your scissors to cut across each corner of the pillow to reduce bulk when turning through. Then over lock the edges of the fabrics together or if you do not own an overlocker, run a zigzag stitch around the edges to keep your fabrics from fraying.

Step 7 - Turn your pillows right side out and add your pillow inserts to finish!
