THOROBRED CROCHET RUG & CUSHION

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Thorobred 8ply 100g balls as per chart
• 4.50mm crochet hook or size needed for correct tension
• Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
• 50cm square cushion insert

RUG

Make 24 Motif A and 25 Motif B (see below).

TO MAKE UP

DO NOT PRESS. Using a flat seam and following assembly diagram, sew motifs together. With right side facing, using 4.50mm hook and M, work 5 rounds dc around rug, working 3dc in corners and inc or dec if necessary to keep work flat. Fasten off.

CUSHION

Make 9 Motif A and 9 Motif B (see below).

TO MAKE UP

DO NOT PRESS. Using a flat seam and following assembly diagram, sew motifs together. Fold piece
in half at fold line and include insert before joining last edge.

MOTIF A

Using 4.50mm hook and M, make 4ch. Join with a sl st into 1st ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: 5ch, (3tr in ring, 2ch) 3 times, 2tr in ring, sl st in 3rd ch of 5-ch at beg, using C1, sl st into 2-ch
sp. Cut off M.
Rnd 2: 5ch, 3tr in same 2-ch sp, * 1ch, (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) in next 2-ch sp, rep from * twice more, 1ch, 2tr in cnr 2-ch sp, sl st into 3rd ch of 5-ch at beg, using C2, sl st into 2-ch sp. Cut off C1.
Rnd 3: 5ch, 3tr in same 2-ch sp, * 1ch, 3tr in next ch sp, 1ch, (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) in next cnr 2-ch sp, rep from * twice more, 1ch, 3tr in next ch sp, 1ch, 2tr in cnr 2-ch sp, sl st into 3rd ch of 5-ch at beg, sl st
into 2-ch sp.
Rnd 4: 5ch, 3tr in same 2-ch sp, * (1ch, 3tr in next ch sp) twice, 1ch, (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) in next 2-ch sp, rep from * twice more, (1ch, 3tr in next ch sp) twice, 1ch, 2tr in cnr 2-ch sp, sl st into 3rd ch of 5-ch at
beg, sl st into 2-ch sp.

rep from * twice more, (1ch, 3tr in next ch sp) 4 times, 1ch, 2tr in cnr 2-ch sp, sl st into 3rd ch of 5-ch at beg, using M, sl st into 2-ch sp. Cut off C2.
Rnd 7: 5ch, 3tr in same 2-ch sp, * (1ch, 3tr in next ch sp) 5 times, 1ch, (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) in next 2-ch sp, rep from * twice more, (1ch, 3tr in next ch sp) 5 times, 1ch, 2tr in cnr 2-ch sp, sl st into 3rd ch of
5-ch at beg. Fasten off.

MOTIF B

Using 4.50mm hook and C2, make 4ch. Join with a sl st into 1st ch to form a ring. Work rounds 1 to 3 incl of Motif A, using C2 in place of M and M in place of C2. Fasten off. Make another 3 pieces the same. Using a flat seam, join 4 pieces together to form a square (Motif B).
