WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 'Moda Vera' Big Softy 150g 12 balls
  • A 15mm circular Knitting Needle (80cm long), or size required to give correct tension.
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure.

TENSION

8 sts and 10 rows to 10cm over patt using 15mm needles.

Note - This Throw has been worked on bigger needles and at a different tension than normally recommended

INSTRUCTIONS

THROW (beg at lower edge)

Using 15mm circular needle, cast on 95 sts loosely.

Note - a circular needle has been used to accommodate the large number of sts, work in rows not rounds.

BEG RIB BAND

1st row (RS) - K2, * P1, K1, rep from * to last st, K1.

2nd row - K1, * P1, K1, rep from * to end.

Rep 1st and 2nd rows once, dec one st in centre of last row ... 94 sts, 4 rows rib in all.

BEG PATT

1st row (RS) - K1, (K1, P1) twice, purl to last 5 sts, (P1, K1) twice, K1.

2nd row - (K1, P1) twice, K1, * (K1, P1, K1) all in next st, P3tog, rep from * to last 5 sts, (K1, P1) twice, K1.

3rd row - As 1st row.

4th row - (K1, P1) twice, K1, * P3tog, (K1, P1, K1) all in next st, rep from * to last 5 sts, (K1, P1) twice, K1.

Rows 1 to 4 incl form patt.

Cont in patt until work measures approx 144cm from beg, working last row on RS and inc one st in centre ... 95 sts.

BEG RIB BAND

Work 4 rows rib (as before), beg with a 2nd row on WS.

Cast off loosely in rib.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Sew in all ends.
