What are tab top curtains?
Although their name is often misunderstood, tab top curtains are one of the most commonly used types of curtain in the Australian home. Economical, versatile and always in style, they are well worth considering if you are looking for new curtains. The "tabs" on tab top curtains are the exposed loops (tabs) of fabric that you can see on the curtains. These tabs are looped around a curtain pole or rod. The tabs can be made of the same material as the curtains, or even from contrasting colours, or embellished with decorative buttons, to match the curtain pole or the rest of your interior.
Can I purchase tab top curtains at Spotlight?
Yes you can! Spotlight offers a number of tab top curtains in a range of colours, sizes and materials to suit your style and home. As well as the tab top curtains in this range, also check out the sheer tab top curtains and kids tab top curtains here at Spotlight. Sometimes tab top curtains are sold as individual panels, which also makes them ideal for narrow windows or doors, where one curtain will be wide enough. Because they are not gathered in pleats, tab top curtains dont have to be quite as wide as some other curtains such as pencil pleat or pinch pleat curtains, which can make them more economical too. For wider windows, just use two or more panels to cover the width you need.
Which tab top curtains do you recommend?
Your choice of tab top curtains will depend on which room you are planning to use them in. Tab top curtains can be used in every room of the house, and with our choice of neutral colours as well as bright, modern shades, you will be able to choose the best curtains for every room. Some of our tab top curtains have decorative buttons that would match well with wooden curtain poles for a co-ordinated look. Our popular gingham tab top curtains are often used in kitchens or nurseries and are available in a choice of colours.
How do I care for my tab top curtains?
We always recommend that you check the product labels and laundry instructions, but many tab top curtains can be hand or machine washed if required, and if they are hung while still damp they often dont need ironing. If you do need to iron your curtains, always make sure to check the label and iron with a cool iron on the reverse side of the curtain.
Does Spotlight sell other curtains apart from tab top curtains?
Here at Spotlight, you will find pinch pleat curtains, pencil pleat curtains, rod pocket curtains and eyelet curtains as well, plus many fabrics to make your own curtains if you prefer.
