Note: Please read through all of the instructions before beginning. All of the seam allowances are 1/4" unless otherwise noted. Width of fabric (WOF) is equal to at least 42" wide. Press all seam allowances open after each seam is sewn, unless otherwise noted. Remember to measure twice and cut once!

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS

Fabric A

Cut two strips 2-1/2" x WOF
Subcut thirty squares 2-1/2" x 2-1/2"

Fabrics B-E

From each fabric cut three strips 5" x WOF
Subcut twenty squares 5" x 5"

Fabric F

Cut twenty strips 2-1/2" x WOF
Subcut eighty strips 2-1/2" x 9-1/2"

Fabric G

Cut five strips 2-1/2" x WOF
Subcut eighty squares 2-1/2" x 2-1/2"

Fabric H

Cut seventeen strips 2-1/2" x WOF
Subcut forty-nine strips 2-1/2" x 13-1/2"

Binding

Cut seven strips 2-1/2" x WOF

BLOCK CONSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Sew a 5" x 5" Fabric B square to the left side of a 5" x 5" Fabric C square. Press towards Fabric C. Repeat to make twenty BC units.

Step 2: Sew a 5" x 5" Fabric D square to the left side of a 5" x 5" Fabric E square. Press towards Fabric D. Repeat to make twenty DE units.

Step 3: Sew a BC Unit from Step 1 to the top of a DE Unit from Step 2. Press seams open or to one side.

Step 4: Sew a Fabric G 2-1/2" square to either side of a 2-1/2" x 9-1/2" Fabric F strip. Press towards Fabric F. Repeat to make forty GFG strips.

Step 5: Sew a Fabric F 2-1/2" x 9-1/2" strip to the left and right sides of the block from Step 3. Press towards Fabric F. Repeat with all twenty blocks.

Step 6: Sew a GFG strip from Step 4 to the top and bottom of a block from Step 5. Press towards the strip. Repeat with all twenty blocks.

Step 7: Sew the blocks into rows of 4 placing a 2-1/2" x 13-1/2" Fabric H sashing strip at the beginning and end of each row and between each block. Press towards Fabric H. Repeat to make 5 rows.

Step 8: Sew four 2-1/2" x 13-1/2" Fabric H strips together with a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" Fabric A square between each strip, and at the beginning and end of each row. Press towards Fabric H. Repeat to make 6 rows.

Step 9: Following the Quilt Assembly diagram on the next page sew the five rows from Step 7 together with Step 8 sashing row in between each row and at the top and bottom of the quilt. Press seams open or in one direction.

Step 10: Sandwich, baste and quilt using your favorite method. Bind using binding fabric.
