INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - It's worth laying out your quilt as to how you want it to look. It makes it easier to piece as you sew.

Tip - Take a photo on your phone so you don't have any trouble putting the pieces back together. It also gives you a better look at how well the colours and patterns work together and options to change them around before you start sewing.

Step 2 - With the diamond template, print at the full size A4 printout cut and if you like, laminate the template to make it a bit firmer. You can do this for all templates and make for easier drawing around.

Step 3 - Draw around each piece and cut 11 diamonds from each fabric.

Step 4 - Cut 15 half diamonds horizontally from remaining fabrics and 10 half diamonds vertically from remaining fabric.

Step 5 - From the sashing, cut 1 and 3/4 inch strips. I cut my strips the longest way so there would be less joints when assembling the longer pieces of the inner sashing.

Step 6 - You will need 88 small sashing pieces to sew to each side of the diamond, the remainder is used for the border cut, the remaining sashing once inner quilt is assembled so you can be accurate with your measurements.

Step 7 - Using your quarter inch foot, start by sewing part of the border on one side of the diamond. Assemble each piece together until they all have the small sashing pieces sewn to one side of the diamond.

Step 8 - Now start assembling them into their strips that run diagonally until all strips are placed together. Add the long pieces of sashing to the strips of diamonds once assembled. One at a time.

Step 9 - Once all the strips have been assembled, add the half diamonds to the outer edges evening up with the cutter once sewn on, to make sure you get a clean line.

Step 10 - After assembling the inner part of the quilt, check the outer edges clean up the sides and add the sashing. This will neaten up the edge and make it all come together nicely.

Step 11 - The remaining border is then added and your quilt top is complete.
