SHADOW 8PLY STRIPE PATTERN CARDIGAN

What you'll need:
- 100g "Moda Vera" Shadow 8 ply x 4 balls Main Colour (M) Lilac and 2 balls Contrast Colour (C) Pink
- 50 mm knitting needles x 1 pair or size required to give correct tension
- Spare needle x 1
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Tape measure

Instructions
Tension
20 sts x 27 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.50mm needles.
Back and fronts (worked in one piece)
Beg back - Using 4.50mm needles and M, cast on 112 (122-132-142) sts.
1st row (WS) - Knit.
Beg Patt - Using M, work 10 (10-12-12) rows stocking st.
Using C, knit 2 rows garter st.
Next row (RS) - Knit, winding yarn twice around needle for each stitch.
Next row - Purl, dropping extra loop off needle for each stitch.
Knit 2 rows garter st.
Rep last 16 (16-18-18) rows 7 times.
Using M, work 10 (10-12-12) rows stocking st.
Divide for fronts -
using m, next row (rs) - k39 (43-47-51), cast off next 34 (36-38-40) sts for back neck, knit to end.
cont on last 39 (43-47-51) sts for left front.
** work 9 (9-11-11) rows stocking st, beg with a purl row.
Using C, knit 2 rows garter st.
Next row (RS) - Knit winding yarn twice around needle for each stitch.
Next row - Purl, dropping extra loop off needle for each stitch.
Knit 2 rows garter st.
Using M, work 10 (10-12-12) rows stocking st.
Rep last 16 (16-18-18) rows 7 times.
Cast off loosely purlways. **
With WS facing, join M to rem sts.
Cont on these 39 (43-47-51) sts for right front.
Rep from ** to **.
SLEEVES
Using 4.50mm knitting needles and M, cast on 58 (62-66-70) sts.
Beg Rib -
1st row (RS) - K2, * P2, K2, rep from * to end.
2nd row - P2, * K2, P2, rep from * to end.
Last 2 rows form rib.
Cont in rib and working extra sts into rib as they become available, inc one st at each end of 17th row, then in every foll 14th row until there are 68 (72-76-80) sts.
Cont in rib without shaping, until work measures 32cm from beg, working last row on WS.
Cast off loosely in rib.
RIGHT FRONT BAND
With RS facing, using 4.50mm needles and M, knit up 100 (100-112-112) sts evenly along right front edge and first half of back neck.
Knit 3 rows garter st (1st row is WS).
Cast off loosely.
LEFT FRONT BAND
Work to correspond with Right Front Band.
FINISHING
Do not press. Join side edges of front bands tog at centre back neck. Fold work in half at shoulders and tie a coloured thread 18 (19-20-21) cm down from each shoulder on side edges of back and fronts. Using mattress st, sew in sleeves, evenly between coloured threads placing centre of sleeves to shoulders. Join side and sleeve seams, matching patt.
