Width (approx) 18 cms/7 ins
Length (approx) 200 cms/79 ins
8 sts to 10 cms/4 ins in width over garter st, using 10mm (US 15), (UK 000) Knitting Needles.
Note - Correct tension/gauge is essential for a successful handknit.
St/s - stitch/es, K - Knit, RS - right side, WS - wrong side, garter st - every row knit, inc - increase by knitting into the front and back of same stitch, rep - repeat, cont - continue, beg - begin/ning, K2tog - knit 2 sts together, rem - remain/ing.
Using 10mm (US 15), (UK 000) Needles, cast on 9 sts.
1st row (RS) - Knit.
2nd row - Inc knitways in first st, knit to last st, inc knitways in last st = 11 sts.
Rep last 2 rows until there are 15 sts. Cont in garter st without shaping until work measures 195 cms/77 ins from beg, working last row on WS.
Next row - K2tog, knit to last 2 sts, K2tog = 13 sts.
Next row - Knit.
Rep last 2 rows until 9 sts rem. Cast off knitways.
Do not press. Using yarn needle, darn in ends towards centre of scarf, rather than along side edges. Using remaining yarn, make 2 large pom poms and attach to each end of scarf as pictured.
