  • Cowl - 'Mega Tweed' 170g: 2 balls Main Colour (M), 2 balls Contrast Colour (CC).
  • Beanie - 'Mega Tweed' 170g: 1 ball
  • A circular 12.75mm knitting needle or size needed for correct tension.
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure.

TENSION

6 sts x 9 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 12.75mm needles.

INSTRUCTIONS

COWL

Using a circular 12.75mm needle and M, cast on 115 sts.

Beg Pattern - Using M

1st row - K2, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd, K1, rep from to last st, K1.

2nd row - Purl.

3rd row - K1, K2tog, yfwd, K1, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd K1, rep from to last 3 sts, yfwd, sl 1, K1, psso, K1.

4th row - Purl.

Change to CC, rep last 4 rows once.

Last 8 rows form patt.

Rep last 8 rows 3 times.

Cast off loosely.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Using a flat seam, join side edges together. Sew in ends.

BEANIE

Using 12.75mm needles, cast on 31 sts.

1st row (RS) - K2, P1, K1, rep from to last st, K1.

2nd row - K1, P1, K1, rep from to end.

Last 2 rows form rib.

Rep last 2 rows twice (6 rows rib in all).

BEG PATTERN

1st row - K2, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd, K1, rep from to last st, K1.

2nd row - Purl.

3rd row - K1, K2tog, yfwd, K1, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd K1, rep from to last 3 sts, yfwd, sl 1, K1, psso, K1.

4th row - Purl.

Last 4 rows form patt.

Work a further 5 rows patt.

SHAPE CROWN

1st row (WS) - P1, P2tog, P2, P2tog, rep from to last 3 sts P3 � 23 sts.

2nd row - K1, K2tog, yfwd, K1, yfwd, sl1, K2tog, psso, yfwd K1, rep from to last 3 sts, yfwd, sl 1, K1, psso, K1.

3rd row (WS) - P2tog, P1, P2tog, rep from to end � 15 sts.

4th row - K2, yfwd, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yfwd, K1, rep from to last st, K1.

5th row (WS) - (P2tog) 3 times, P3tog, (P2tog) 3 times � 7 sts.

6th row - K1 K2tog, yfwd, K1, yfwd, sl 1, K1, psso, K1.

7th row (WS) - (P2tog) 3 times, P1 � 4 sts.

Break off yarn, thread end through rem 4 sts, draw up and fasten off securely.
