Special Abbreviations

C4F = Slip next 2 sts into a cable needle and hold at back for work, K2, then K2 from cable needle.

N.B. This Beanie is worked in rounds with 4 double-ended needles

Using a set of 7.00mm needles, cast on 64 sts.

1st round - K4, P4, rep from to end.

Rep last round 12 times.

Beg Main Patt

1st round - C4F, P4, rep from to end.

2nd round - K4, P4, rep from to end.

Rep last round 4 times. Last 6 rounds form patt. Cont in patt until work measures 22 cm from beg.

Shape Crown -

Keeping cable correct, cont as folls -

Next round - Patt 4, P2tog, P2, rep from to end ... 56 sts.

Next round - Patt 4, P3, rep from to end. Rep last round once.

Next round - Patt 4, P2tog, P1, rep from to end ... 48 sts.

Next round - Patt 4, P2, rep from to end.

Next round - Patt 4, P2tog, rep from to end ... 40 sts.

Next round - Patt 4, P1, rep from to end.

Next round - Patt 3, K2tog, rep from to end ... 32 sts.

Next round - Knit to end.

Next round - K2, K2tog, rep from to end ... 24 sts.

Next round - Knit to end.

Next round - K1, K2tog, rep from to end ... 16 sts.

Next round - K2tog, rep from to end ... 8 sts.

Break off yarn, thread end through rem 8 sts, draw up and fasten off securely.

TO MAKE UP

DO NOT PRESS. Sew in all ends. Fold back brim.
