KNITTED REMEMBERANCE POPPY

LEVEL: EASY

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• '4 Seasons' Stallion 8 Ply
  100g balls 1 x 1st Colour (C1-red)
  1 x 2nd Colour (C2-black
• Quantity stated with make approx 23-24 Poppies
• A pair 3.75mm knitting needles.
• Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

TENSION

Not essential for this project.

INSTRUCTIONS

POPPY

Main Piece - Using 3.75mm needles and C1, cast on 60 sts.

1st row (RS) - * K4, P2, rep from * to end.

2nd row - * K2, P4, rep from * to end.

Rep 1st and 2nd rows 4 times more ... 10 rows in all.

Next row - * (K2tog) twice, P2tog, rep from * to end ... 30 sts.

Next row * sl 1 purlways, P2tog, psso, rep from * to end ... 10 sts.

Break off yarn leaving a long end. Run end through rem sts, draw up tightly. Using end attached, join seam.

Centre Bud - Using 3.75mm needles and C2, cast on 8 sts.

1st row (RS) - Purl.

2nd row - Knit.

Rep 1st and 2nd rows 3 times more ... 8 rows in all. Break off yarn leaving a long end. Run end through rem sts and around outer edge of work, draw up to enclose forming a bud shape, noting the purl side is the RS and leaving yarn attached.

Stitch bud to centre of main piece and secure firmly on WS.
