WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 'Keep Sake' 100% Organic Wool 50g x 1 ball each of 6 Contrast Colours (C1-charcoal), (C2-grey), (C3-brown), (C4-latte), (C5-beige), (C6-cream).
  • A 4.50mm circular needle (60cm long) or size required to give correct tension.
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

MEASUREMENTS

Depth (approx) cm: 43
Circumference (approx) cm: 75

TENSION

19 sts and 26 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.50mm needles.

INSTRUCTIONS

COWL

Note - The cowl is worked with stocking st facing, however cowl can be worn with purl fabric shown - reversible cowl.

Using 4.50mm circular needle and C1, cast on 142 sts.

1st round - K1, P1, rep from to end.

Rep 1st round 6 times more ... 7 rounds of rib in all.

8th round - Knit.

Rep 8th round until work measures 6cm from beg.

Using C2, Next round - Knit.

Using C1, Next round - Knit.

Rep last 2 rounds once more. Break off C1.

Using C2, Next round - Knit.

Rep last round until work measures 13cm from beg.

Using C3, Next round - Knit.

Using C2, Next round - Knit.

Rep last 2 rounds twice more. Break off C2.

Using C3, Next round - Knit.

Rep last round until work measures 21cm from beg. Break off C3.

Using C4, Next round - Knit.

Rep last round until work measures 27cm from beg.

Using C5, Next round - Knit.

Using C4, Next round - Knit.

Rep last 2 rounds twice more. Break off C4.

Using C5, Next round - Knit.

Rep last round until work measures 34cm from beg.

Using C6, Next round - Knit.

Using C5, Next round - Knit.

Rep last 2 rounds once more. Break off C5.

Using C6, Next round - Knit.

Rep last round until work measures 40cm from beg.

Work 7 rounds of rib (as before). Cast off loosely in rib.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Sew in all ends neatly.
