WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 'Mondial' Express 3 x 200g balls.
- 1 pair each 12mm knitting needles, or size required for correct tension
- Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure
Circumference (approx): cm 80
Length (approx): cm 20
5 sts x 11 rows to 10cm over garter st, using 12mm needles.
Note - This Bucket has been worked on smaller needles and at a firmer tension than normally recommended for stability.
Beg Sides (worked sideways).
Using 12mm needles, cast on 10 sts loosely. Knit in garter st, until work measures 80cm from beg, working last row on WS.
Cast off loosely.
With RS facing and using 12mm needles, knit up 37 sts evenly along one side edge.
1st row and every foll alt row (WS) - Knit.
2nd row - K1, * K2tog, K7, rep from * to end ... 33 sts.
4th row - K1, * K2tog, K6, rep from * to end ... 29 sts.
6th row - K1, * K2tog, K5 rep from * to end ... 25 sts.
8th row - K1, * K2tog, K4, rep from * to end ... 21 sts.
10th row - K1, * K2tog, K3, rep from * to end ... 17 sts.
12th row - K1, * K2tog, K2, rep from * to end ... 13 sts.
14th row - K1, * K2tog, K1, rep from * to end ... 9 sts.
Break off yarn leaving a long end. Thread end through rem sts, draw up tightly and fasten off securely.
DO NOT PRESS. Using same end and a flat seam, join base and side seam. Sew in ends.
