2nd rnd: Sl st in next ch-2 sp. Ch 1. (1 dc. Ch 2. 1 dc) in same sp as last sl st. (Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp) 4 times. [Ch 1. (1 dc. Ch 2. 1 dc) in next ch-2 sp] twice. (Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp) 4 times. Ch 1. (1 dc. Ch 2. 1 dc) in next ch-2 sp. Ch 1. Skip last dc. Join with sl st to first dc.

3rd row: (RS). Sl st in next ch-2 sp. Ch 1. 1 dc in same sp as sl st. *Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last dc before ch-2 sp. Ch 1. Skip next dc. (1 dc. Ch 2. 1 dc) in next ch-2 sp. Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in next ch-2 sp. Turn.

4th row: (WS). Ch 1. 1 dc in first dc. *1 dc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Skip next dc.* Rep from * to* to next ch-2 sp. (1 dc. Ch 2. 1 dc) in next ch-2 sp. Ch 1. Skip next dc. Rep from * to * to last ch-1 sp and dc of side. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in last dc. Turn.

5th row: Ch 1. 1 dc in first dc. *Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp.* Rep from * to * to last dc before ch-2 sp. Ch 1. Skip next dc. (1 dc. Ch 2. 1 dc) in next ch-2 sp. Rep from * to * to last 2 dc. Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in last dc. Turn.

Rep 4th and 5th rows until shorter side of Motif measures approx 63.5 cm. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Note: Joining row of dc will appear as ridge on RS.

Joining Motifs: Following diagram, with WS facing each other, join 2 Motifs with dc tog along longer sides into Top and Bottom halves, noting pieces are mirrored.

With WS facing each other, join Top and Bottom halves with dc tog, noting pieces are mirrored. so that first 2 rnds of each Motif sit at outer corners.

Edging: 1st rnd: (RS). Join yarn with sl st at any corner ch-2 sp of Blanket. Ch 1. Work dc evenly around 4 sides of Blanket, having (1 dc. Ch 2. 1 dc) in each corner ch-2 sp. Join with sl st to first dc. Fasten off.

Looped Fringe: With WS facing join yarn with sl st to top right corner ch-2 sp.

1st row: (WS). *Wrap yarn over piece of cardboard twice, from back to front, to form 15 cm 2 loops and hold behind work. Insert hook into same sp as last sl st and between yarn wraps and cardboard. Yoh and draw up a loop onto hook. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook, dropping loops off cardboard to back of work (see diagram). Loop will be formed on RS of work. Sl st in each of next 2 dc. Rep from * to end of row.

Fasten off.

Rep for other end of Blanket.
