Finished Size (approx.): 65cm around x 30.5cm deep

Notes - Before working with Caron� x Pantone� multishade yarn braid, separate each color link and wind into 5 separate balls for each braid.

Each color link will be referenced by its Pantone� color # (see label). Designate each different shade of the 5 separate yarn balls as Contrast A, B, C, D and E as noted in Materials section (or as desired).

Due to finite amount of yarn in each shade, pattern gauge must be matched to ensure successful results

Worked over foundation ch multiple of 4 ch + 3.

When joining colors, work to last 2 loops on hook of first color.

Draw new color through last 2 loops and proceed.

TOP AND BOTTOM (make 2 pieces alike)

With A, ch 79.

1st row - (RS). 1 tr in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 tr). 1 tr in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 77 sts.

2nd row - Ch 3 (counts as 1 tr). 1 trbp around each st to end of row. Join B. Break A. Turn.

3rd row - With B, ch 2 (counts as 1 htr). 1 htrbl in each st to end of row. Join C. Break B. Turn.

4th row - With C, ch 1. 1 dcfl in first st. Ch 1. Skip next st. 1 dcfl in next st. Rep from to end of row. Join D. Break C. Turn.

5th row - With D, ch 1. 1 dc in first dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from to last dc. 1 dc in last dc. Join C. Break D. Turn.

6th row - With C, ch 1. 1 dc in first dc. Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from to last 2 sts. Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in last dc. Join B. Break C. Turn.

7th row - With B, ch 1. 1 dc in first dc. 1 htr in next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in next dc. Rep from to end of row. Join E. Break B. Turn.

8th row - With E, ch 1. 1 dcfl in each st to end of row. Turn.

9th row - Ch 1. 1 sl stbl in each st to end of row. Turn.

10th row - Ch 2 (counts as 1 htr). 1 htrfl in each sl st to end of row. Join B. Break E. Turn.

11th row - With B, ch 1. 1 dc in first st. 1 dc in next st. Draw up a long loop in front loop only of dc 4 rows below (7th row). Yoh and draw through 1 loop on hook. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook - extended dc made. Skip next st. 1 dc in each of next 2 sts. Rep from to end of row. Join C. Break B. Turn.

12th row - With C, ch 1. 1 dcfl in each st to end of row. Join D. Break C. Turn.

13th row - With D, ch 1. 1 dc in first st. Ch 1. Skip next st. 1 dc in next st. Rep from to end of row. Join E. Break D. Turn.

14th row - With E, ch 1. 1 dc in first dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from to last dc. 1 dc in last dc. Join D. Break E. Turn.

15th row - With D, ch 1. 1 dc in first dc. Ch 1. Skip next dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from to end of row. Join C. Break D. Turn.

16th row - With C, ch 1. 1 dc in first dc. 1 htr in next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in next dc. Rep from to end of row. Join D. Break C. Turn.

17th row - With D, ch 2 (counts as first htr). 1 htrbl in each st to end of row. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Joining Top and Bottom - Place WS of Top and Bottom tog to form a mirror image along final rows. With RS facing, join B with sl st and cont to sl st Top and Bottom tog, through back loops only along final rows to create a sl st seam. Sl st seam will create ridge on RS. Fasten off. Sew short edges tog.
