CELTIC KNOT NECKLACE

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 3m Crafter's choice macrame cord (on 50m roll), we used the colour 'aqua'
- 2 x 1.5cms Ribtex jewelery basics tassel clamp
- 1 x 11mm Ribtex jewelery basics lobster clasp
- 2 x 6mm Ribtex jewelery basics jump rings
- 15cms of 6x4mm Ribtex jewelery basics twisted oval chain
- Fine point glue gun and glue
- Jewellery pliers
- Tape measure
- Scissors
FINISHED SIZE
12cm wide x 9cms high, knot only, length can be adjusted to suit as extra length has been allowed for in the measurements.
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Cut 2 lengths of cord to 1.5metres.
Step 2 - Lay cords together, and form a clover shape (photo 1), paying attention to which side sits on top while maintaining the way the cords sit together.
Step 3 - Take the right-hand pair of cords lay over, under, the first 2 loops of the clover shape Then complete the by laying the cords over the last loop (photo 3)
Step 4 - Begin the weaving by taking the left pair of cords and threading under, over & under the first clover loop to form a cross with the right-hand pair. (photo 4)
Step 5 - Now take the left pair, and thread over, under & over the next loop, again forming a cross with right pair. (photo 5)
Step 6 - Now take the same cords, and thread under, over 7 under the last loop, again forming a cross. (photo 6)
Step 7 - The Celtic Knot formation is complete, now it is a matter or slowly tightening, by working each pair of cords closer, while maintaining the pairing flat and even
Step 8 - When you are satisfied with how tightly the cords are woven, place a dab of glue under each cross over point to hold it in place.
Step 9 - Cut the ends to the desired length, and use pliers to clamp them with the tassel clamps.
Step 10 - Add jump rings to the clamps. Make a 3cm length of chain on one side, and use the remainder on the other side.
Step 11 - Add your lobster clasp to the shorter end.
