DIY FACE MASK CASE

DIY Face Mask Case Project

Level: Easy

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 50cm of poplin fabric (enough for mask and case)
  • Pins
  • Scissors
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Key Ring Clasp

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Trace around the template onto the fabric. Cut out 2 pieces for the main part of your case.

Step 2 - Pin pieces together with right sides facing in.

Step 3 - Sew around the outside with a 1cm seam allowance. Leave a gap at one end to turn the fabric through. Snip across corners so they will sit neatly when turned right side out.

Step 4 - Turn right side out through the gap and press the seams with an iron.

Step 5 - Top stitch along the edge that has the opening to close it shut.

Step 6 - Cut a rectangle 4cm x 8cm for the strap. Fold the raw edges in along the long edge and top stitch in place.

Step 7 - Thread the finished strap through the key ring clasp ready to sew.

Step 8 - Fold the main piece on itself with right sides facing in, following the fold lines on the pattern.

Step 9 - Place the clasp strap in the side seam on one side and make sure the clasp is sandwiched between the top flap pieces, so it is in the right position when turned right side out. Overlap the top and bottom ends in the side seams, ensuring the top flap is pinned underneath the bottom. Sew the side seams together with a 1cm seam allowance.

Step 10 - Turn the fabric right side out and use a pencil to push out the corners.

Step 11 - Make matching mask to store inside your case. Clip onto your keys or a bag to finish!
