INSTRUCTIONS

Using 4.50mm hook and Yellow, make 35ch.

1st row (RS) - 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end, turn ... 34dc.

2nd row - 1ch, 1dc in each st to end, turn ... 34dc.

Rep 2nd row 5 times.

Beg Rounds -

1st round - Do not turn, 1ch, work 6dc evenly along first short side of rectangle, 1dc in each st (34dc) along first long side of rectangle, work 6dc evenly along second short side of rectangle, then 1dc in each st (34dc) along second long side of rectangle to end, join with sl st to first dc ... 80dc.

2nd round - 1ch, 1dc in each st around, sk last st, join with sl st to first dc ... 79dc.

3rd round - 1ch, 1dc in each st around, join with sl st to first dc ... 79dc.

Rep last round 6 times (until work measures 4cm from base).

10th round - Ch3, 1tr in each of next 8 sts, 1htr in next st, 1dc in rem sts around to last 3 sts, 1htr in next st, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, join with sl st to first tr ... 79sts.

11th round - Ch2, 1htr in next st, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, 1htr in next st, 1dc in rem sts around, join with sl st to first htr ... 79sts.

12th round - 1ch, 1dc in next st, 1htr in next st, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, 1htr in next st, 1dc in rem sts around, join with sl st to first dc ... 79sts.

13th round - 1ch, 1dc in each st around, join with sl st to first dc ... 79dc.

Rep last round once. Fasten off.

Beg Head in Rows -

Using Yellow, join in 25^th st from beg of last round.

15th row - 1ch, 1dc in each of next 39 sts, turn ... 39dc.

16th row - 1ch, sk first st, 1dc in each st ... 38dc.

Rep last row 3 times ... 35dc.

Beg Rounds -

20th round - 1ch, 1dc in each st, sl st to beg dc (do not turn) ... 35dc.

21st round - 1ch, 1dc in each st, sl st to beg dc ... 35dc.

Rep last round twice.

24th round - 1ch, * 1dc2tog, 1dc in next 3 sts, rep from * around, sl st to beg dc ... 28dc.

25th round - 1ch, * 1dc2tog, 1dc in next 2 sts, rep from * around, sl st to beg dc ... 21dc.

26th round - 1ch, * 1dc2tog, 1dc in next st, rep from * around, sl st to beg dc ... 14dc.

27th round - 1ch, 1dc2tog around, sl st to beg dc ... 7dc.

Fasten off. Weave end through remaining 7 sts and tighten to close. Weave in all ends.

BEAK (make 2)

Using 4mm hook and Orange, make 7ch.

1st row (RS) - sk 1ch, 1dc, 1tr, 2dtr, 1tr, 1dc, sl st in last ch and fasten off.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Sew beak on to head at approx level of 21^st round. Embroider eyes using Brown, 1 st above and 2 sts either side of beak.

GARLAND:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 4 Seasons Brighton Cotton Blend 50g x 1 ball Brown, 1 ball Orange, 1 ball Mustard, 1 ball Yellow, 1 ball Ice Blue, 1 ball Apple Green, 1 ball Pink and 1 ball White.
• A 3.50mm crochet hook.
• Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure, 3 x mini white pom poms.

Tension

Correct tension is not required for this project.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATION

htr dec = yarn over hook, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over hook again, pull through stitch. Insert hook into next stitch, yarn over hook again, pull yarn through stitch, yarn over hook, pull through all 4 sts.

Instructions:

CHICKEN MOTIF (make 3)

Body -

Using 3.50mm hook and Brown, make a magic circle.

1st row (RS) - 3ch, (counts as 1^st tr), 15tr in circle, turn ... 16tr.

Tighten circle.

2nd row - 3ch, 1tr in same st at base of ch, 1tr in each of next 6 sts, 2tr in next st, 1tr in each of next 6 sts, 2tr in last st, turn ... 19tr.

3rd row - 3ch, 1tr in same st at base of ch, 1tr in each of next 7 sts, 2tr in each of next 2 sts, 1tr in each of next 7 sts, 2tr in last st, ... 24tr.

Tail -

* 8ch, sl st around last tr of 3rd row, rep from * twice, fasten off.

Wing -

With RS facing, join Brown in centre of magic circle, * 10ch, sl st through centre of magic circle, rep from * twice, fasten off.

Crest -

Using Orange, with RS facing, join around beg 3ch from 3^rd row of body (opposite side to tail), * 4ch, sl st around beg 3ch, rep from * twice, fasten off.

Legs -

Using Mustard, 1st row - with RS facing, join to top of 11^th tr from tail, 9ch.

2nd row - Working along one side of ch, sl st in 4^th ch, * 3ch, sl st in same st at base of ch, rep from * once more, sl st in each ch down to beg, sl st in tr at base of ch, fasten off.

Sk 12^th tr, rep rows 1 and 2 in 13^th tr from tail.

Beak -

1st row - With RS facing, join to top of tr next to beg 3ch from 3^rd row of body, 3ch.

2nd row - Working along top side of ch, sk 1^st ch, 1htr in next ch, sl st in same tr at base of ch, fasten off.

Weave in all ends.

BUNNY MOTIF (make 3 - 1 x Pink, 1 x Ice Blue and 1 x Yellow)

Body -

Using 3.50mm hook, make a magic circle.

1st round (RS) - 3ch (counts as 1^st tr), 9tr in circle, join with sl st to top of beg 3ch ... 10tr.

Tighten circle.

2nd round - 3ch, 1tr in same st at base of ch, 2tr in each st around, join with sl st to top of beg 3ch ... 20tr.

3rd round - 3ch, 1tr in same st at base of ch, * 1tr in next st, 2tr in next st, rep from * to last st, 1tr in last st, join with sl st to top of beg 3ch ... 30tr.

Head -

Beg working in rows to make head.

4th row - 3ch, (counts as 1^st tr), 2tr in next st, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, 2tr in next st, turn ... 7tr.

5th row - 2ch, (counts as 1^st htr), 1htr dec, 1htr in each of next 2 sts, 1htr dec in last 2 sts, turn ... 5tr.

Ears -

6th row - 9ch, 1tr in 4^th ch from hook, 1tr in each ch, sk next st from row below (along top of head), sl st in next 2 sts, 9ch, 1tr in 4^th ch from hook, 1tr in each ch, sl st in last st.

Fasten off.

Using White make a small pom pom tail and attach securely over centre of magic circle. Weave in ends.

EGG MOTIF (make 3)

Using 3.50mm hook and Yellow, make a magic circle.

1st round (RS) - 3ch (counts as 1^st tr), 9tr in circle, join with sl st to top of beg 3ch, fasten off ... 10tr.

Using Ice Blue, join to top of any tr.

2nd round - 3ch, 1tr in same st at base of ch, * 2ch, 2tr in next st, rep from * to end, 2ch, join with sl st to top of beg 3ch, fasten off ... (10 x 2tr groups, 10 x 2ch sp).

Using Apple Green, join in any 2ch sp.

3rd round - 3ch, 2tr in same 2ch sp, * 1ch, 3tr in next 2ch sp, rep from * 3 times, 1ch, 3dtr in next sp, 1ch, sk next tr, 1dtr between last tr and next tr, 1ch, 3dtr in next 2ch sp, * 1ch, 3tr in next 2ch sp, rep from * twice more, 1ch, join with sl st to top of beg 3ch, fasten off. Weave in ends.

Make a further 2 motifs in colours as desired.

FINISHING

Using 3.50mm hook and White, make 90ch. Be careful not to twist ch when attaching motifs. * Sl st through 2^nd ch at top of one Bunny ear, make 30ch, sl st through top of single dtr of Egg, make 30ch, sl st through 5^th ch of middle loop of Chicken wing, make 30ch, cont from * until all motifs are joined, make 90ch and fasten off.
