FLEECE FLOWER CUSHION

Fleece Flower Cushion Project

LEVEL: EASY

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • 50cm Printed B/Out Polar Fleece - JP Florals, Pink
  • 15cm Tear away paper stabiliser
  • 200gm Hobby fill

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - To make a flower stencil, draw a circle 40cm in diameter. Mark 6 points evenly around the edge of the circle. Halfway between points, measure 5cm out from the edge of the circle, and make another mark. Draw a petal shape, starting at a point on the circle, curving out 5cm to the mark and back in to the next point. Draw 6 petals. Cut out stencil.

Step 2 - Using the stencil, cut out 2 flower shapes from the fabric.

Step 3 - With right sides together, pin and sew around the edge, leaving a 10cm opening at the top of one of the petals.

Step 4 - Turn right side out, through the opening and lightly stuff the centre area of the cushion.

Step 5 - Draw a 13cm diameter circle onto 15cm square of stabiliser. Pin the stabiliser to the centre on the outside of the cushion. Stitch through all layers around the circle on the stabiliser. Gently remove stabiliser.

Step 6 - Using hobby fill, stuff the remaining area around the centre of the cushion. Hand stitch the opening closed.
