DIY PAPER MACHE DECORATIONS

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Lay out all your materials and make sure you have a clean work space to work on.

Step 2 - Decide on the colour pallet for your decorations.

Step 3 - Start by painting the base colour for your decorations in your chosen colours using a medium or large paint brush. If you are using a lighter colour such as white, you will need to do a few coats of paint as the Paper Mache will absorb a lot of the paint. Allow the paint to dry before painting a second coat.

Step 4 - Once the base coat is dry, use a smaller paint brush to paint in details on your decorations. You can decorate your decorations with dots or stripes or paint more intricate details such as snowflakes and flowers. On the Christmas trees, we use a large paint brush with a small amount of white paint to brush the edges of each branch to create a snowy look.

Step 5 - To fill the baubles take the glitter picks and cut into smaller sections using wire cutters.

Step 6 - Open the fillable baubles and place the glitter pick parts inside and close bauble to secure.

Step 7 - To finish cut pieces of ribbon and tie around decorations to hang.
