CHRISTMAS SANTA HAT HESSIAN TABLE RUNNER

LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Santa Hat Printed Hessian Fabric
• Plain Hessian Natural (for the backing)
• Matching Thread
• Scissors
• Sewing Machine
• Iron

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1. Cut 1 piece of printed hessian and 1 piece of plain hessian 45x275 cm in size each.

Step 2. With the right sides facing each other, sew the two pieces together around all the edges with a 0.5cm seam allowance. Leave a 12cm opening on one of the long sides of the runner. Turn the runner the right way around.

Step 3. Open the seam and iron flat. Fold it back and iron again to create a sharp edge of all four corners.

Step 4. Cut 2 pieces of Plain Hessian Fabric of 40 x 10cm for the fringes. Attach one of these pieces to both sides of runner.

Step 5. Remove jute yarn from the weft (running across) this piece of fabric leaving the long warp yarns free to make fringing. Knot these pieces of yarn to make fringes.
