WHAT YOU'LL NEED
91cm x 91cm (approx)
16 sts x 24 rows to 10cm over ripple st using 5.50mm needles.
cont = continue, K = knit, K2tog = knit 2 sts together, P = purl,
patt = pattern, rem = remain/ing, RS = right side,
st/s = stitch/es, WS = wrong side, yon = yarn over needle.
Note - Work in rows not rounds, circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts.
RIPPLE PATTERN (OVER 12STS)
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: *(K2tog) twice, (yon, K1) 4 times, (K2tog) twice*, repeat from * to end.
Row 4: Knit. Repeat Rows 1-4 for Ripple Patterns
TIPS & HINTS
Join a new ball of yarn when there are colour changes and/or approx 15cm of yarn left from the old ball. Weave these ends in neatly on the wrong side in a zigzag pattern for a few cms, and then trim off excess.
Using A, cast on 150 sts.
Rows 1-5: Work in garter st. Cut A and attach B.
Next row: Using B, K3, place marker, work Ripple Patt to last 3 sts, place marker, K3.
Note - Cont to work K3 on first and last 3 sts on every row to establish border patt, working Ripple Patt inside markers.
*Cont in patt until 8 rows (2 repeats) have been worked.
Next rows: Cut B and attach C. Using C, work 4 rows in garter st.
Next rows: Cut C and attach A. Using A, work in Ripple Patt until 12 rows (3 repeats) have been worked.
Next rows: Cut A and attach C. Using C, work in 4 rows in garter st. Repeat from * until 7 full repeats have been worked.
Next rows: Cut C and attach B. Using B, work 8 rows in Ripple Patt.
Next rows: Cut B and attach A. Using A, work 6 rows in garter st.
*Cast off 6 sts, K2tog, cast off the K2tog repeat from *, casting off rem sts at end. This keeps cast off edge from being too loose.
Weave in ends.
