WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• '4 Seasons' Pony 4Ply 1 x 50g ball each of 5 Colours (C1-red), (C2-grey), (C3-mint), (C4-purple), (C5-aqua).
• 1 pair 3mm knitting needles or size required to give correct tension.
• 1 pair 3.25mm knitting needles for Cable Booties
• Cable needle for Cable Booties
• Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

MEASUREMENTS

To Fit Foot (approx): 8-9 cm

TENSION

28 sts to 10cm in width over stocking st, using 3mm needles.

INSTRUCTIONS

SPECIAL ABBREVIATION

C4B =slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and leave at back of work, K2, then K2 from cable needle.

GARTER STITCH BOOTIES

(make 3 sets - one in each of C1, C4 and C5)

Beg at Sole- Using 3mm needles, cast on 31 sts.

1st and foll alt rows(WS) - Knit.

2nd row- (inc in next st, K13, inc in next st) twice, K1 ... 35 sts.

4th row- (inc in next st, K15, inc in next st) twice, K1 ... 39 sts.

6th row- (inc in next st, K17, inc in next st) twice, K1 ... 43 sts.

8th row- (inc in next st, K19, inc in next st) twice, K1 ... 47 sts.

10th row- (inc in next st, K21, inc in next st) twice, K1 ... 51 sts. Knit 11 rows garter st.

Shape Instep -

1st row- K30, sl 1, K1, psso, turn.

2nd row- K10, K2tog, turn.

3rd row- K10, sl 1, K1, psso, turn. Rep 2nd and 3rd rows 5 times, then 2nd row once.

Next row- Knit to end ... 37 sts. Knit 32 rows garter st. Cast off loosely knitways.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Using a flat seam, join leg and foot seams. Fold top of Bootie over onto RS as pictured.

SLIPPERS (make 2)

Beg at Sole - Using 3mm needles and C1, cast on 31 sts.

1st row (WS) - K1, * P1, K1, rep from * to end.

Rep 1st row for moss st, noting that sts will be inc. Working extra sts into moss st.

2nd row- Inc in first st, moss 13, inc once in each of next 2 sts, moss 13, inc in next st, moss 1 ... 35 sts.

3rd and foll alt rows - Moss to end.

4th row - Inc in first st, moss 15, inc once in each of next 2 sts, moss 15, inc in next st, moss 1 ... 39 sts.

6th row - Inc in first st, moss 17, inc once in each of next 2 sts, moss 17, inc in next st, moss 1 ... 43 sts.

8th row - Inc in first st, moss 19, inc once in each of next 2 sts, moss 19, inc in next st, moss 1 ... 47 sts.

10th row - Inc in first st, moss 21, inc once in each of next 2 sts, moss 21, inc in next st, moss 1 ... 51 sts.

11th row - Moss to end. Break off C1. Using C2 for rem, Next row (RS) - Knit.

Next row - K25, P1, K25. Rep last 2 rows twice more.

2nd row - K23, P1, K23.

3rd row - K19, (K2tog) twice, K1, (sl 1, K1, psso) twice, K19 ... 43 sts.

4th row - K21, P1, K21.

5th row - K17, (K2tog) twice, K1, (sl 1, K1, psso) twice, K17 ... 39 sts.

6th row - K19, P1, K19.

7th row - K17, K2tog, K1, sl 1, K1, psso, K17 ... 37 sts.

8th row - K18, P1, K18.

9th row - K16, K2tog, K1, sl 1, K1, psso, K16 ... 35 sts.

10th row - K17, P1, K17.

CABLE BOOTIES (make 2)

Beg at Sole - Using 3mm needles and C3, cast on 31 sts.

1st and foll alt rows (WS) - Knit.

2nd row - (inc in next st, K13, inc in next st) twice, K1.

4th row - (inc in next st, K15, inc in next st) twice, K1.

6th row - (inc in next st, K17, inc in next st) twice, K1.

8th row - (inc in next st, K19, inc in next st) twice, K1.

10th row - (inc in next st, K21, inc in next st) twice, K1 ... 51 sts. Knit 11 rows garter st.

Shape Instep - 1st row - K30, sl 1, K1, psso, turn.

2nd row - P10, P2tog, turn.

3rd row - K10, sl 1, K1, psso, turn. Rep 2nd and 3rd rows 5 times, then 2nd row once.

Next row - Knit to end ... 37 sts.

Next row (WS) - * P3, K4, rep from * to last 2 sts, P2.

Next row - K2, * P4, K3, rep from * to end. Rep 1st and 2nd rows 9 times ... 20 rows in all. Change to 3.25mm needles.

Beg Cable Patt (RS will be facing when cuff is folded over) -1st row - * P3, C4B, rep from * to last 2 sts, P2.

2nd row - K2, * P4, K3, rep from * to end.

3rd row - * P3, K4, rep from * to last 2 sts, P2.

4th row - As 2nd row. Rows 1 to 4 incl form cable patt. Work as further 18 rows cable patt. Cast off in patt.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Using a flat seam, join foot seam. Using mattress st, join leg seam, reversing seam for cable patt rows. Fold cuff over onto RS.
