  • Or 6 x 50g balls Moda Vera Merino
  • 1 pair 3.25mm knitting needles or size needed for correct tension
  • 3.00mm crochet hook
  • Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure

BLANKET

Using 3.25mm needles cast on 199 sts and work 6 rows of stocking st.

Commence Lace patt as foll:

Row 1: (RS) K9, * yfwd, K2tog, K10, repeat from * to last 10 sts, yfwd, K2tog, K8.
Row 2 & all even rows: (WS) Purl.
Row 3: K8, *yfwd, sl2tog, K1, p2sso, yfwd, K9, repeat from* to last 11 sts, yfwd, sl2tog, K1, p2sso, yfwd, K8.
Row 5: K7, *yfwd, K2tog, K1, sl 1, K1, psso, yfwd, K7, repeat from * to end of row.

CROCHET BORDER

Rnd 1: Using 3.00mm crochet hook and with blanket right side facing, draw up a loop in the last row and work 1ch, work dc along edge to the corner, working 3 dc for every 4 rows, 2ch, 1dc in first st on cast on edge, 1dc in each st to end of cast on edge, 2ch, work dc along edge working 3 dc for every 4 rows to the corner, 2ch, 1dc in first st on cast off edge, 1dc in each st to end of cast off edge, 2ch, sl st into first dc.
Rnd 2: 1ch, *1dc in each dc along the side edge, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) in cnr 2-ch sp, 1 in each dc along base edge, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) in cnr 2-ch sp, repeat from * along the side and top edge, sl st into first dc.

Note - Each scallop is worked over 8 dc. To ensure you finish along each side at a sl st, work 2 sts into 1 dc.

Rnd 3: *Sl st into next dc, 1dc in next dc, 1htr in next dc, 1tr in next dc, 1dtr in next dc, 1tr in next dc, 1htr in next dc, 1dc in next dc, repeatfrom * to end with a sl st into last dc of side, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr, 1dtr, 1tr, 1htr, 1dc) in cnr 2-ch sp, repeat from * around remaining 3 sides, sl st into first sl st. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Weave in loose ends. Cover with a cloth and press lightly with a cool iron.
